    I'll announce it here and now because I'm going to start commissioning next week. Issue 2 is GO, and it will be an SF special, with a much more specific brief for writers, which I'm sure you will all enjoy the challenge of writing to (Will Ellwood motivated me to make a proper brief this time).

    In the process of arranging a Big Name for the interview... more news soon. Also the mag is now in stock in Glasgow, at Plan B Books, Monorail and the CCA.

    Launch party in Glasgow in the first week of July!

    If I'm the Mike you're referring to Bram, I'm afraid I don't have an order number to give. I wasn't able to complete my order thru Indyplanet (I got caught in a glitchy, shipping calculation error vortex), and so far no one I know in Canada has been able to successfully order theirs either.

    Hi folks, the thread re-title is due to the fact we are now accepting submissions for issue #2, which will be an SF special!

    I sent out the commissioning email today for writers - the artists commissioning email will follow later in August.

    If you have not received the email, but wish to contribute, please drop me a line at editor.weaponizer[at]gmail.com, and I'll forward it on.

    Here's the brief:

    I am looking for hard conceptual SF. SF that deals with the future, or imminent future, or alternative present, in an interesting way. I want something plausible, where the world-building is solid, the characters fully realised, and the premise intriguing. Conceptual spec fic will be considered preferable to space fantasy (although that's not off the table if done well), and I'm including a request to avoid pre-exisiting genres like cyberpunk, unless it's a drastically inventive new take on it. If you give me aliens, I want their biology to be plausible. If you give me robots, I want to know how they came to be built. If you give me dystopias, I want the history to breathe.


    I look forward to reading your submissions! Big huge thanks to everyone who bought a copy of issue 1 and made it possible for me to carry on with the next one. I still have about 50 copies of Issue 1 left to sell, so get in now if you haven't got one yet!
