My problem is that I think it would be better collected. I was lost reading the last issue. That said, the art is pretty great.

I really liked it, but I'd wished they'd dragged it out longer, so that the journey to the 'tower' had felt more like an epic journey that it seemed to be. In the first issue that felt that like an amazing long term goal, so I was a bit disappointed to see it done so quickly and seemingly easily.

On the other hand the art is great and the world is properly weird, so I'll at least pick up the next issue and see how it goes.

I'm really enjoying it a lot, and can't wait to see what the next two artists, Farel Dalrymple and Giannis Milonogiannis, bring to the table, I'm a fan of both of those guys.

I agree that it surprised me how contained it was. I expected the stuff he set up in issue 21 to be stretched out far more. I am interested in what the next storyline will be.

I was more just amazed by the creativity of the future organic tech and the world he builds. And the art, I agree, is fantastic.

Yeah, I'm kinda glad that the journey only took three issues. I'm sure a more extended journey to the tower would have been interesting and looked beautiful...but filler is filler, no matter how pretty. Plus, what the recent issue set up as to what happens next sounds WAY more interesting then seeing John eat weird shit and get caught in awkward alien situations for three or four more issues.

Prophet's amazing. Dalrymple is killing it on #24 and Giannis Milogiannis is coming for a few issues starting with #27. Do take a look at his tumblr, please. He's immensely talented.

You all bought the King City trade paperback, right? If this collection doesn't win an Eisner, I'll be...well, not really surprised considering some recent decisions they made, but...oh yes the point: it's beautiful and smart and extremely re-readable. Over 400 pages for $20. Brandon Graham's finest work so far.
