Frank Frazetta did some covers (which after later reading the books that his covers graced regretted the decision to let them use them) and Eric Canete did some stuff from them. Shadow Hunter. Virgin/Liquid comics gave us this gem - you know, the comic company spearheaded by Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra [whaaaat?!?]. It was well presented and some of the artwork was quite nice but the story was utter, derivative, bollocks.

Imagine a comic about a busty, leather-clad blonde, with a sword as written by Jenna Jameson... aaand you're pretty much there. In fact, it seemed even the creators couldn't be bothered finishing it. Not properly, anyway. Three quarters of the third, and final, bumper sized-issue was simply text telling the rest of the "story". As nicely typeset as it was poorly written.

And Turf was so bad I didn't even get to page 8 of #1.

If you're looking for a good example: try Lobo by Scott Ian from Anthrax.
