Obvious satirical brickbat - giant franchises where if you stand outside one you can see another one along the street. Homogenised, homogenising, everywhere. Draining choice, one shopfront at a time.
Funny, I'm having a dig at advertising with mine as well (not telling you how, though!). With any luck I will have it done in the next couple of days. Then my placeholder on page one comes down and my entry goes up.
@Oxbrow: I love your take on the vampire in advertising for human consumption. Consumption is part of vampirism and its appeal I reckon. My own take on it is up now. It's on page one and replaces the placeholder I put there earlier.
@Oxbrow--like the reference to the Harkers; there's a spot in D.C. where there are three Starbucks within eyesight. Cafes, social media and video games flow through this challenge; has the feel of concepts aligning.
@Oxbrow: well, those consumer chains do feed off each other. Fast food joints (MacDonalds, Burger King, Wendy etc) and restaurants crowd together for the same reason - to feed off each other. Hmm, I wonder if there's another take on the vampire there....
But my entry's up now and I'm happy with it, so no more takes on the vampire for me.
It feeds on your insecurities and doubts.....less messy, more efficient and plentiful in supply. also...drawing reflections is hard and I can't top Vamp condoms.
Hey Zlatan: Can you draw a follow-up where Eddie is getting his dick shot off by Billy's mom? Maybe also show her branding "I am a creepy asshole" into his forehead. I'm not a monster, though--I'll imagine a scenario where she lets him live after turning him into a hideous cripple.
Thanks in advance, man! It will help considerably with the nightmares.
I'm sorry if you have nightmares but isn't that what horror is supposed to be? An imaginary story that creeps out people? This is just a different version of Twilight's Edward and Bella, about an imaginary monster trying to magically convert a young victim to be like him.
