It's like Twitter, but for photo and video too. I just signed up, and it took a bit of hacking (some carriers don't support phone confirmation, so just set your mobile number on your profile page, and text Y to 85555. send your updates to the email address they give you), but I like it so far.
Here's my brand-spankin'-new Zannel channel...http://www.zannel.com/user.htm?name=madmatt213. As always, I first read about in on Whitechapel, as opposed to Warren's site or Grinding.be.
I actually got on the front page yesterday with a photo of my friend Allen's bloody pants, so yeah, pretty easy.
Yeah, I've gotten on there twice now in as many days of using the service. I'd be interested to know how those pictures get up there, I assume it's not a person sitting there with admin privileges that say "send to front page as interesting," but beyond that I can't guess how they'd pick them. I'm also interested to see how well browsing the site on a phone works. I don't have the internet on my current phone because my carrier's browser is terrible whenever it did function.
I'm really excited about this sort of service but I am disappointed by the great number of people who update with steaming piles of uninteresting crap that reminds me of myspace, I'm spoiled from hanging around here.
