HHHmmmmm. So many of the stories I have enjoyed actually take place in somewhere really shitty. So, as many have mentioned, as long as there is a built in badass factor, and I'm not a peon crushed under the weight of Lord Ruler or such...

    Damn you youth...

Forgotten Realms, a la hundreds of youthful hours of 2nd edition AD&D.

Otherwise, maybe Alloy of Law era reborn world from Mistborn. Especially if I got to be Twinborn or Mistborn, or at least a cool Misting.

If I had to be myself...Shadowrun. At least I could get some sweet mods.

I would live in a nicely painted old Chuck Jones Merrie Melodies world, where everyone carries their possessions in hammerspace, and physics rewards or punishes one's social behavior.

    that sounds delightful :D

@CrusherJoe: You don't really want to live in Star Trek. You'd never know how far away anything was and every other day you'd find you had Subspace stuck in one orifice or another.
Not to mention the pain of waking up in the morning to discover your toaster has become sentient and now you have to discuss the ethics of stuffing bread in it.

I want to live on DC's Earth 2.

    GAY SUPERHEROES! How exotic.

Sorry, just read it. I would have to go with the Star Trek U, I won't repeat the reason. I would pick Star Wars but I don't think I could make it as a Jedi so it would be a waste.

(I hid it just in case anyone doesn't know but cares)

    @Ben Klumaster

That would be the red Dwarf universe?

    "Would you like any toast?"

    "How about a muffin?"

    Fair point.

This thread is the Titanic. I was hoping to see some Winsletboob, but have been sorely disappointed. Hence:

Aw, kind of sad. I liked where this was going.

I think I'd like to live in the Culture. I'd like to be catered to, both in the luxury and the adventure department ;)

Nobody wants to live in Interzone? Dr Benway as your GP, plentiful mugwumps... it practically sells itself.

I find the universe of Richard Morgan's "Kovacs" trilogy to be presented in a way that I find irresistable, returning to it regularly.
I really don't think I'd want to live there though, so would have to join in with the general consensus and go for the Culture. Would love to live on an orbital plate or be a drone or have my own knife missile parked in a nice bit of jewelry and well, you know... drug glands.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about how I would kick fucking ass in the Hunger Games.

Just watched it again recently, but I think I could totally live in the Inception world. Which means of course, I can live anyehere, and do anything. And lots of sleep.

The Discworld for me. I like the idea of a place where if you travel far enough, you don't end up back where you started.
