So I got myself some scrapple the other day. Quite tasty. Fried it up in butter, then scrambled eggs in the pan. Decided it really needed siracha for extra flavor. Yum.

Not the most appetizing of food pictures, but I'm kinda proud of managing to haul the ingredients into the mountains, and cook this giant stew pot under fairly primitive conditions without a single disaster. Three chickens, half a kilo of bacon, flour, mushrooms, carrots, celery, salt, pepper and a bottle of red wine. A bit of a hit, judging by the sorry remnants:

Dismantle chickens and roll them in flour. Fry everything in batches until brown, and throw in the pot. Bacon at the bottom, vegetables on top. Boil out the pan, and add fluid to the pot along with the rest of the flour, chicken stock and wine to cover everything. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and leave until the meat falls of the bone.

Woooooow. That looks delicious! I wish it weren't so hot and humid here, or I'd be making a stew right now.

As it is, I'm about to embark on a new frontier for me: crepes. This should be interesting.

That looks like some fiiiine stew. But the main reason I'm here is to thank the various people who mentioned Kale chips in the last thread. I didn't even know they were a thing until a few days ago, but now I've made some, and they were delicious! Going to try them with chilli oil and a little sugar next time.

So I tried those Kale chips again last night, along with chilli oil and a little soft brown sugar - bloody delicious. I also made a paste of cumin seeds, fennel seeds, sweet smoked paprika, lemon juice and oil, which I grilled the chicken in. I was most satisfied with the results.
