I've got two dogs. Hugo, a dachshund/schnauzer and Q-Tip, a maltese poodle. Here they are on Hugo's 15th birthday. He's energetic for an old guy.

    This is my cat, Bit.

He has a habit of sticking his tongue out all the time, and that may be my favorite thing about him.

    This is Barriss.

90% of my pictures of her are in my lap because that is all...

    ...she ever...

    ...does.

Hobbies include kicking litter all over my bathroom and staring at bugs but never trying to catch them.

I love the idea of this thread. So many cute cat pictures.

Here's our two dogs on Valentine's Day--Obi on the left and Mona on the right. They look pleased, I think!

And this is Mona as a puppy.

@cjkoger Hah, I think you may be on to something there! I wonder how the two would react if introduced to their respective dopplegangers?

I, too, am loving all of these, but especially Finagle's. Something about the angle or some such business makes it look like Trixie has this huge (kinda derp-y) smile on her face. :)

I would also like to request more bulldog pictures please. They are the only dog I would ever consider getting.

And a question for Bulldog owners, how are they to take care of? From what I understand, pet health insurance is VERY much needed because their health problems are so bad.

we have insurance for Edie, the breeder we got her from has had NO problems with health for any of hers. She has DNA tests done to make sure that most problems won't affect them. A wee clean of the face folds every so often is recommended, and needed after a dig or snuffling session.

i'll get some more pics soon :)

Alastair - Here in the States, we have Kong toys that are pretty durable for pooches that love to chew. Also Nylabone makes some really durable chews for dogs. No idea on availability outside the US though. My dogs love the Nylabone chews.

This is Brook, my mom's english setter. I took this picture of her yesterday; she died this morning (her heart just gave out). She was my boy Hunter's best friend; and now they're together again. The past few weeks she'd been very talkative and happy, and snugly, so at least you know, she wasn't miserable before she went.

Will post pics of mom's two current dogs, Stewie and Remmy, soon. And of course my cats.

    @alastair-
    KONG. KONG KONG.
:) They also make like, a super-tough edition of kong if your dog's a really strong chewer. We still have the one from our first dog in use now ( since 1996ish) and it's survived a lot of dogs.

she'd not an crazy strong chewer yet but bulldogs are renowned for being the chewiest chewers, she went through one toy in an hour

@ oldhat- regarding bulldogs and health problems.

Sadly the list of genetic problems with the breed is pretty bad and so insurance for these breeds costs more and really must be paid.
Monster is two years old and his vet costs are already past 5,000 euros.
His breed type, known as the Victorian Bulldog, is supposedly an attempt to breed out some of the inherent problems with the old english breed- obviously not so successful in his case.
He's still recovering from his operation for elbow displacia(spelling?) and may need his other elbow done in the future, he also has bad skin allergies and requires a special diet. His facial folds require cleaning regularly and I've known of other bulldogs who have had to have facelifts costing thousands of euros to stop the folds on their foreheads damaging their eyes.

Now having said all that, please don't let that put you off considering a dog of this type, the rewards of sharing your life with a bully are well worth the extra care required. I mean who couldn't love this boy?

Alastair- the black colored Kong toys are the most durable, they're the only things Mo cannot destroy!
