It's July, it's @#$% hot outside, so let's post some art and distract ourselves from watching children and the elderly melt on the pavement... Here, I'll start us out:
Paul, I thought your your sexy spy chick needed an unsuspecting camper to sneak up on. Ah-ha! Ok so it's not as much of a surprise as your sexy spokes-model invasion of my motorhome in the June thread, but I can't get campers off my mind.
HEYAPATHY I love how your style fits everything from children's comics to the super R rated.
God, I've been out of the loop for a couple of weeks, still catching up on June's thread.
So here's page 9 from my in-progress short story I Fell In Love With A Dead Boy. It'll be 10 pages total, written drawn & lettered myself. The final scene was the first part of the story I envisioned, so that's where I've started. And it's also the only page without dialogue.
I want a coffee table book Babes and Rvs. Make it happen. Great stuff.
Like Fred said, Wonderful emotion LoneWolf, some very personal storytelling there. Well done.
Had a live art session downtown Sacramento. Rendered a bit more at home over the weekend, articulating ideas established in the 20 minute poses. Did about 10 of these, had a great time. Trying to get over my fear of drawing around other people.
Hello, I haven't posted anything in ages since I LOST MY INTERNET AAAND ELECTRICITY (not goingto get into the details here, maybe later/elsewhere, heh) anyway, I'm back online and this is some of the things I doodled overthe last 6 month spent in the "dark".
first: a study after paul gillon (I got one of his comics that was published in Poland many years ago)
and now some other doodlery:
hoping to buy a new tablet soon (old volito is borked, probably going to pick up a bamboo next month or so), then I shall commence with color work :)
Present for some friends who got married. It's one of those things you put in the front of books so you can put your name in them. Linoleum cut print with a few stab wounds for good measure.
Thanks @Fred @Zao Being a 'character' piece, I'm really going all out on this one. This page in particular, having no dialogue, was quite a challenge to convey everything I wanted to get across.
@Paul Love the design details @Apathy That's great, kind of has a Keith Haring vibe @moali Love the light in the shadow, great likeness @Fred I now aspire to create something that can be camper-ised! @Alan Hehe 'ingredients' @Zao Great character coming through your work, as always @Aurora Love seeing rough work/doodles, and really like the style of the final 2 pieces @dorkmuffin Love the print style, very cool gift idea (yoink)
Dork how quick are those linoleum prints to make? I have always wanted to make prints like that but never did in school. Is it a costly process?
Thanks Paul. They are all fun little experiments. I will give each drawing its own spacial rules. (Not special, seems like I have a southern american accent) but space(ial) I'm kind of a math nut as I can see number relationships very clearly and so I can break up the focal length down using gradients and filtered masks. Im just trying to have fun with my drawings lately.
Here is Moshi Moshi Hipster Hunter. Patrolling the streets of Portland, seeking hipsters to hunt.
And practicing with close up faces. Somebody that I used to know.
Hey Whitechapel! Here's a peek at my new promo piece that I'm going to be rolling out. 20 years as a freelance designer/illustrator/comic creator. (Gah! Ancient, I know!) Lots of work done in these threads is here. Are YOU in here?
