The third (?) season flash-forwards of the burnt teddy bear floating in what turns out to be Walt's poor was deeply forboding. It was a bit of a shaggy dog thang, but brilliantly done.

@StefanJ--Thanks for saying it for me.

I should note that my gripe about flash-forwards isn't specifically towards Breaking Bad, and I'd agree that the second* season teddy bear flash-forwards were clever. This one, however, felt a little too much like, "Look everyone, Walt is gonna need a gatling gun for something! How exciting eventually!"

Though obviously that is not nearly as bad as a show like Flashpoint which did it at the beginning of every episode for no good reason.

Okay, damn - I just yesterday watched a few episodes of the probably craziest series I've seen on TV, done with live actors: Danger 5.

It's a pulp action series of sorts, which is like a lovechild of Thunderbirds, old Bond movies and Robot Chicken. It's goddamn refreshing to see a series where the creators don't pull any stunts when it comes to going Weird :D

A notion has been floating around the threads-- BREAKING BAD:THE MUSICAL.

I can see Walt alone in the tent/lab, skipping about like a hazmat Oompa-Loompa as he happily cooks--

To the tune of "My Favorite Things":

Swimming pools floating with pink bears and spouses

Crystal meth stinking in bug-ridden houses

Haunting remindings the name "Gus Fring" brings

These are a few of my favorite strings

Acting like Scarface, though I'm just a novice

Crying like Orbison in Hank's new office

Handing free muscle cars to your offspring

These are a few of my favorite strings!

Dumb Todd, who's missing more screws than Ikea

Earnest Marie, with her mouth diarrhea

    Jesse's a marionette, spiraling

These are a few of my favorite strings!

    When Saul schvitzes,

    When Mike winces,

    Lydia's shoes start a fad

I simply start pulling my favorite strings

    Again I am breaaaaking baaad!

Marvels TV series announced. S.H.I.E.L.D. with Joss Whedon writing the pilot.

The automatic weapon purchased by Walt is an M60 light machine gun. Here's hoping Walt establishes a firing post, because the M60 is almost useless in the hands of an untrained operator unless fired from a bipod (or tripod depending on the model).

If Walt starts walking around firing a machine gun, I will literally quit watching at the exact moment that happens.

I'll quit watching when Walt snorts up a huge pile of blow off his desk.

What if he does those two things in rapid succession? While getting a lap dance?

If the things that have happened in Breaking Bad haven't made you quit watching yet, you've gotta be in it for the long haul. Walt's baby girl could stab Skyler to death and I'd keep watching.

I would actually really enjoy that.

Armando Iannucci: BAFTA's Annual Television Lecture
Fight, fight, fight. One of the leading figures in British comedy (I'm Alan Partridge, The Thick Of It) calls on our TV industry to be more aggressive in selling itself abroad and attacks the interference of government and press in the creative sphere.

    Anyone catch Boardwalk Empire tonight?

I always forget just how much I enjoy that show until I start watching it again. There's just so much going on.

"Such a wonderful affair you've thrown" or something along those lines are the chilly moment between the two of them.

    So, so good.

So Homeland just took most of the drama Emmys, apparently. I'm not saying it's a bad show, but how the fuck did that happen?
    • CommentTimeSep 24th 2012
I don't get that either. I can see not wanting to give it to /Mad Men/ agaaaaaain, but...where was Breaking Bad? Walking Dead?

The same way that Jon Cryer apparently breaks new grounds in comedy every week with 2 and a half men.

    And hey, new Castle tonight!

    Woo, new Castle!

Been watching season one of Alphas on Netflix. Can't wait to finish it out and get into the ongoing season 2. I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. Not perfect by any means, but hey, way to not screw it up SyFy. Two thumbs up.

I'm a sucker for Claire Danes, but Homeland wasn't really the best show around last year. Ah well.

Dexter is starting this weekend I believe, anybody else looking forward to that?
