It's Thursday, it's mid-afternoon in London, it's another wrongheaded morning in Mericky, it's who-the-fuck-knows-when in Australia, and it's time for more Crossed Hideosity.

    Episode 15, live and free-to-air.

Remember: Not safe for work, not safe for minors, not safe for people of a nervous disposition, not safe for gingernuts, not safe for mermaids, not safe for the absinthe-filled cavity of Henri de Toulouse Lautrec's walking cane.

    YOUGABBAGABBANAO.

I feel like Shaky will try to offer himself as a nude model and things get super awkward. Also, I laughed out loud at the mutant power line.

I like what you guys are doing with the greater page count per episode. It allows for that little extra complexity to emerge between cliffhangers and Si and Javier have both been totally exploiting the shit out of it.
I worry about Shaky a bit, lucky people can be so fucking clueless.

Hint: it's the same number of pages as Freakangels. We're just displaying them 1/2 by 1/2.

want to hear a lot more about the first group of survivors shaky hooked up with in the flashbacks. the old man who said his old life and skills meant shit in the new world, i like him. he has a hardass attitude that strikes me.

also, maybe i didn't catch it when shaky was talking about couples on the island. is the black haired girl, the one he doesn't tak about, is she hooking with the available men? thought i saw something, but didn't get it on first pass.

love your work, si, can't wait for the trade paperback!

She's dead. Unless the crossed try to mess with her art supplies, in which case THEY will be dead.
-hey, I can hope for some artist-rage violence.

    @Si
I spend more time on each page I think, it slows me down, probably something totally arbitrary like that.
Don't get me wrong, Warren and Paul totally rocked six complex, gorgeous pages a week. They pretty much own that form as far as I'm concerned.
I often still felt like six pages was almost not enough for me to get fully back into the world each time. Or by the time I had, we're waiting for next week.
This might only be a small difference in presentation, but it feels to me like it makes a bigger difference to the flow, I guess that's all I'm trying to say.

I totally agree with City Creed,it feels longer... and it looks gorgeous on fullscreen. It hadn't either occurred to me the pages might be split.

Well, we're doing something right then. We're cramming more panels onto every page - and loads more text. Feels right, given the weekly format. Yet to see how well it plays when collected.

Ahh, you're doing plenty right. Really enjoying this. But yeah, Tabitha is dead dead dead.
  6.  (10764.13)
Tabitha will be the only who survives (apart from Jackson) when the series eventually ends. She'll be serenely painting whilst the rest are mercilessly butchered.

Stupid Shaky, it's Elisa all the way!

Definitely a strong episode. You're watering the narrative with info like watering a plant: not so much it runs over, just enough to let it breathe and bloom but leaving us thirsty for more.

Yeah, everyone hates hippies, but they keep society alive. Cruel bastards like the gamekeeper are even more hateable, but they're holding all the rounds.

    But Jackson's likeable. LOL

So what is Shaky's plan to avoid the lottery? Good stuff once again. So Shaky was with the gamekeeper for 8 months, looking forward to seeing that story unfold, and just goes to show I guess what a lucky cunt he is. Roll on next Thursday.

Just started reading this series, bloody awesome it is. Just devoured all 15 chapters in one sitting, now I'm bloody eager for more. Great stuff.

edit: interesting overuse of the word 'bloody', perhaps the comic is affecting me on a subconscious level
