I'm going to watch it, but I tend to take an archaeological/historian position of event observation when it has a cultural significance, even if that is negative.
I've just been a few feet away from the Olympic torch - it was hot, like fire is meant to be. I was tempted to blow it out, but it was guarded by a bike-cop who looked just like Judge Dredd. I'm not joking!
@Paul, RFE, Jason: All the way from Ypsilanti, Michigan. How've we never had a Michigan Meet up? I'm pretty sure Ms.Dangerous Lee and Lex.Machina still hang around here now and then, too...
@Slick: well, time zone differences make it 7pm Saturday my time.
@Flabyo: It would be great if they had a Harry Potter performance. He is a British institution after all. Your people are lucky, getting a sneak preview to the opening ceremony.
@Steve Toase: I checked again - ah, yes, I did read it wrong - it is 7am. Thank you for pointing it out. Now I can watch the ceremony at the correct time.
And now I'm finally starting to get an idea for this challenge. Hope I can get it in with the regular work I am doing.
