I've go my spaceship underwear on and will be watching the NASA feed like a hawk starting at around eleven, my time. Anyone else gonna be watching the landing?
I'm old enough to remember the first pictures coming in from Viking. (And, for that matter, Apollo 11.) This is no less exciting, but . . .
. . . the landing method sounds insane. I'm trying not to invest too much in this or get too enthused. The disappointment would be too great otherwise.
I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised in the morning.
I'll just quote a pal, because he managed to sum it up nicely:
"I have on my phone, in my pocket, right now, an image that a space robot took this morning. An image taken in Mars. This is at least 2,5 billion dollars awesome."
