    because i am a pervert AND because of the way comics are, i saw BATTLE BREASTS listed and figured 'welp, we finally got to that point' before realizing it was in fact BATTLE BEASTS

    Not really sure where to plop this down, but hope here will do - the reason I'm so tired today is that yesterday I bought the comic album Wizzywig and thought I'd just read a couple of pages, but ended up finishing it and reviewing / blogging it.     as someone who got 1000% burnt out on true superhero books, the last page of this weeks SUPREME gave me a nerd-crossover joy that i havent experienced in years. its rare for a true surprise in these days of spoilers and 3 month solicitation lead time etc

    i bought some cheap old dixon/nolan Detective comics involving the riddler strapping bombs to the cluemaster and it really hammered home the point me that im past the point where the new-school, super serious DC is just not for me. loved all of this stuff though. also love picking up old comics and seeing the ads from 1995, it looks like a million years ago.
