A very sad day for comics. I met Joe many years ago and he was a gentleman and a inexhaustible source of amusing stories and knowledge. A genuinely good man who not only didn't hesitate to share his hard earned knowledge, he created opportunities to do so.

Anyone who had Joe as an instructor and had the privilege of watching him do an inking demo, got to experience both inspiration...and depression - at the same exact time...because Joe made it look so god damn easy. Of course Joe had a head start on most, he was a working professional at the age of 14. If the only thing Joe did was open his school, his mark on not only the comic industry, but also the animation industry would be still be apparent. Thankfully he did more than open the Kubert School, he drew pages and pages of gorgeous work for us to enjoy for years to come. Much respect Joe.

I've got a friend of the family who is attending the Joe Kubert School. He's pretty broken up about this. Can't say I'm exactly thrilled, either.

Sorry, I messed on the link. He was really great. Just because of Fax from Sarajevo, or the Jew Gangster and so many stories.

This is a real loss.

And when Warren dies (God forbid! Or the Flying Spaghetti Monster Forbid. Or Whomever. SCIENCE! SCIENCE FORBID!), hopefully, Avatar will be classy enough not to package all of his used tissues, old liquor bottles and spent nurses and put them on eBay.

Jesus, DC. When was the last time you made ... not even a "good" decision but a "correct" one? When? I'm listening. All I hear is crickets chirping.

Sorry, Joe. Sorry. ON BEHALF OF EVERYONE WHO *used to* LOVE DC COMICS, I'm so sorry.
