Talk to me about this thing. Until Sunday, it appears it's going to be $75 at a couple online retailers and at that price point, I'm very interested. I also saw joe.d's post on Comics Alliance about it, which is putting the thing in the buy column, but I could use a second, third or fourth opinion.

Therefore! Is this worth my money?

EDIT: Thank you for your help.

I will buy it, once I have the money. It's a monster of a book to read in one go like that. It's not for everyone, but if you like Grant Morrison, you'll like this.

Saw it at my LCS. Too heavy and unwieldy. Got the whole thing anyway, wouldn't buy that monster. However, it would probably look good on the shelves...

I already have Invisibles in singles and in trades and yet I'm still tempted to buy this... It would look so nice on the shelf.
As for actually reading? Hell no! Reading something that big would be really uncomfortable.

Pre-ordered on Amazon, which got me twenty quid off.

I'm seriously considering getting a lectern to put it on.

I never understood why people buy duplicates of items they already own?? As for this it does seem the most economical way to get a hold of this series.. I'm interested.

Amazon just knocked delivery back to 12 September. Not nice, not smooth.

Martin -- In the case of Invisibles, I had the trades, heard that the letter pages were worth reading in the singles, one day I came across the entire run of singles for $50 (cdn).
The other reason that I have some things in trades as well as singles: I find that some things deserve to sit on a book shelf or they come out with a really nice looking trade format.

i held it, its awesome. it appears to collect literally EVERYTHING, including the two anthology shorts, one of which was never reprinted anywhere else. buy it and read it and live it.

I'll keep an eye out for it and see how it looks/feels. My copy of volume 4 is signed by Jiminez, so I'll hang on to that, but I'd consider selling the rest of them to fund buying it.

Is it the same paper stock as the original trades? As in, same size and same quality, or have they given it a bit of an Absolute treatment?

Almost completed my first reading of this beast. Holy God, this gets tedious by the three quarter mark, though I'm enjoying the Edith storyline. That said, at the price point I bought this at, I can't complain. No idea what I think of this as a complete text yet.
