I'm kind of in the same boat as Atomicsloth, I check in for the lists Warped puts up, and to see what else folks are buying. I tend to read stuff in chunks, so it might be five or six months before I sit down and read any one book. One that I am reading as soon as I get it is Saga. Enjoying this one a lot, and now know it's on break for a bit. Would have been a bit concerned, not seeing it in my box for consecutive months.

I miss Daredevil as well, Joe. I quit on almost everything superhero when everything went all 'renumbered'. I enjoyed DD, as the title seemed to be left out of the crossover/event stuff, but then it, too, got swallowed up in crossoverland, and from there, I let it go.

I probably won't contribute a whole lot, but I do check this thread often. It's kind of the only comic news I read. Thanks for posting the lists every week, Warped, and I'll drop into the conversation from time to time.

I tend not to chime in every week do to a combination of very busy Wednesdays and feeling like I'm repeating myself after a while. I do enjoy the regular Wednesday trip to the store, though. It's a nice little weekly hit of fun goodies. Trade-waiting wouldn't work for me at all.

I tend not to comment every week because I am poor and can't afford to buy comics regularly. But I have picked up a few after lurking in here, based on what you guys are buying.

James -- I know what it's like to feel like you're repeating yourself. (How to tell what I'm buying: Singles: Ted McKeever, Terry Moore, Warren Ellis, Lil Depressed Boy, Batwoman, Dan Brereton. Tradewaiting: Grant Morrison, Brian Wood, Matt Fraction, Locke & Key.) Not including the odd random thing I picked up, that's a complete list of everything I collect without me looking upstairs at my collection.
I don't buy many singles and I've recently started getting a few more things in trade... but still, that's pretty much everything I've been posting in my buying reply for the past year or two now...

Everyone that doesn't normally comment -- There's nothing wrong with listing what you're going to pick up eventually / are curious about. That being said, there's nothing wrong with not responding either. But it is nice to hear from you guys...

Have to say I'm enjoying Fraction and Aja back together again doing Hawkeye. I was gutted when they ended their run on Iron Fist, I really like their stuff.

Quite liking the new Gambit ongoing as well.

Only other thing I'm pulling at the moment is Hit Girl, decided I was buying too many things I wasn't really that bothered about every month.

i did the same thing, dropping even stuff that was Good, but not Great. my list now consists of

    SAGA
    FATALE
    MANHATTAN PROJECTS
    GLORY
    XO MANOWAR
    SUPREME (probably gone soon though)
PROPHET (i wish they would double the page count and bump the price to $5, would buy vociferously!)
    SWEET TOOTH
    BATMAN INC
    INVINCIBLE
    ATOMIC ROBO
edit cuz the motherfucking BULLETPROOF COFFIN is over anyway

was getting FLASH just because its probably the best looking DC book, and im a sucker for the character but they used the FIVE FUCKING DOLLAR ANNUAL to finish an in-book story arc, and thats just ridiculous to me. got no patience for this kinda crap anymore
and very few other minis/one shots as they pop up (im sure im forgetting something here)

I was following Resurrection Man in the DC new 52 (cause I love Abnett's writing), but then it went all 'we're going to cross over with another book you haven't been reading' and I gave up.

I think I spend more on webcomic anthologies than I do on floppy's these days.

    Phonogram

im soooooo scared/excited for the return of this...one of my favorite series of the last decade, but i find myself worried it will cross the threshold of wearing out welcomes/too cute-clever. i have faith, fingers crossed, sigils drawn on 7" labels (seriously...i did the art for a few records, one of the center labels has sigils in it)

    DROPPING:
    Frankenstein

me too. was really digging this, but i feel the momentum got lost, the art started to look rushed and the ability to read as single issues kinda diminished. will probably check out the third trade, as i just sold 1-12. it started so promising, like a DCU hellboy influenced by morrisonian sci-fi :(

    @Joe,

Phonogram's gonna be awesome. Gillen's written a bunch of comics now. McKelvie's drawn even more comics now. Shit is gonna be so cash. I mean Euros. Pounds. Whatever. Point is: Everyone's gotten better at what they do, they WANT to tell this story and the history of the comic is based in things that are too clever by half. Gonna be awesome.

Frankenstein, I feel the same way. I don't want to say dropped off, it's still good, but I don't feel like going into Rotworld for three issues and I need to spend less money anyway. I'll take another look at the issues after work tomorrow, but I did notice a change around the 7th or 8th issue of the series that bugged me.
  6.  (10819.32)
I dropped Animal Man for the same reasons regarding crossover. I liked the book, but I don't care about Swamp Thing or any other books it's going to cross over with. The whole Rot thing was Swamp Thing's story, and I didn't come here to read a Swamp Thing spin-off book. I wanted Animal Man and didn't get it, so I just let it go mid-story and didn't regret it.

Yeah, I'm suffering through the Rot storyline in the hope that we get back to a proper Animal Man book afterwards.
  7.  (10819.34)
I'm reading Animal Man because because of Swamp Thing... Or, at least, I'm getting the trades of each...
Does anyone know if you're going to have to read Frankenstein in order to get the full Rot World story?
  8.  (10819.35)
The other problem with Animal Man is, with DC's utterly wretched inability at keeping creative teams in place, by the time The Rot gets taken care of, who knows who'll be writing. Plus why would I want to dredge through issue after issue of another comic's storyline to get there?

Does anyone know if you're going to have to read Frankenstein in order to get the full Rot World story?

it doesnt appear so, there was one 'tie in' in frank that was more like a regular issue except the weird thing he had to deal with was weird Rot-things

TF -- That's amazing! It's going to be so bad... but so much better than I'll expect it to be.
