Hopefully we can continue the conversations from last week in this here thread... I like it when people talk about comics on here.

    Comics I'm buying in trade:

Conan the Barbarian #8 -- Brian Wood!!
    Massive #4 -- Brian Wood!
Ultimate Comics X-Men #16 UWS -- Brian Wood
X-Men #35 -- Brian Wood... Seeing the pattern here yet?

    Trade I'm buying:
Mondo TP -- Ted McKeever! It`s an odd little series by an old little man. (I have it in singles too... Don't ask.)

    Comic I'm buying: Massive #4

Comic I'm thinking on buying: Stumptown V2 #1 (liked the first run, figure I'll have a look at the second)

Comic I'll look for in trade or HC: Conan the Barbarian

Comic I'm thinking of buying in trade (again): Chew - I read Vols. 1-4 and my interest waned as I read. I enjoyed the first trade a lot, but things seemed to devolve from there. Anyone still on board? Any thoughts?
  3.  (10827.4)
For sure, no questions asked, take my money:
    Stumptown v2 #1
    Demon Knights #0

    Flip through:
    Frankenstein #0
  4.  (10827.5)
Mark -- I had the same problem with Chew. Started off really well, 2nd arc slipped a little, 3rd made me stop. I think my cousin did the exact same thing.

    Chew #28
    Conan the Barbarian #8
    Crossed Badlands #13
    Fantastic Four #610
    Manhattan Projects #6
    Massive #4
Punk Rock Jesus #3 (of 6)
Stumptown V2 #1 - nice surprise, didn't know there was a second series coming

Judas Coin HC - this looks properly mental, one of judas' pieces of silver makes it's way through the DC universe

I've been on a bit of a Frank Miller kick recently, getting Sin City from the libraries and re-reading Daredevil and DKR. I even got Holy Terror becuase they had big pile of them for less than half price in the funnybook shop. The story was pretty much non-existant but the art is just phenomenal, except towards the end where he goes even crazier than usual and starts doodling faces on the walls.

Chew #28 and Manhattan Projects #6 for me! I'm going to get Conan and Saucer Country in trade down the road.

As for the above about Chew, I think I love Chew more now than I did when I first picked it up around issue 6. It has kept the big random and screwy ideas it started with, and it is now not only continuing to rise those stakes, but is weaving the past seemingly random ideas into a nice cohesive world that works under its own logic. It is still the title I look forward to every month (or so) and get excited every time I see it on this list for shipping the coming Wednesday.
  5.  (10827.8)
    MANHATTAN PROJECTS
    XO MANOWAR

i really wanted to like SAUCER COUNTRY, as Cornell has done some solid stuff and Kelly is a fantastic artist, but it just didnt grab me after 4 issues. really wish Ryan could afford to do FUNRAMA full time, its such a neat book. if you havent checked out the madness, he put #1 online for free here

I'm currently trying to rewrite my pull list and realising I don't need a pull list because I'm dropping so many books.
When Marvel NOW! kicks in I'm dropping books I've bought monthly for 18 years and books I was drawn to by recent talents - loved Fraction's Iron Man, don't like the sound of his Fantastic Four (but I'm going to buy FF #1) LOVE Hickman's Fantastic Four - won't be buying his Avengers (to expensive), Don't trust DC editorial/creative teams to commit to a DC book right now...

    This Week:

Wood's X-Men is going to be one of the last X-men comics I buy.

Fantastic Four #610 - marching towards the end of a brilliant run.

I'm going to stick with Manhattan Projects although a bit of me wishes I waited for the trade 'cause it feels like a cool book to whip off the shelf and show people but it's also a cool book to look forward to getting.

Chew - I read Vols. 1-4 and my interest waned as I read. I enjoyed the first trade a lot, but things seemed to devolve from there.

Exactly where I stopped - with the Vampires and the... island thing and the girl and the attack chicken and the...

I think it's a book that started in a fun/silly place and couldn't afford to get more silly and as it got more silly I got more WTF? I might buy the next few volumes if I hear the story went somewhere

Yesturday I downloaded the free first issues of Saga, Thief of Thieves, Planetoid, Peter Panzerfaust, Mind The Gap and America's Git Powers off of Comixology which I look forward to reading on the crapper!

    YES! People are talking!

What's Stumptown about and why should I buy it? I've seen a lot of people say it's really good but I've never seen a basic description of it.

I'm suprised no ones mentioned LOVE & ROCKETS VOL V NEW TALES coming out this week. The Hernandez Bros. releasing a new book, along with an East Coast Tour, is what I'm really excited about this week.

    Also getting:

All the Brian Wood (MASSIVE, CONAN, XMEN, ULTIMATE XMEN)
    STUMPTOWN
    PUNK ROCK JESUS
STITCHED (great book by Garth Ennis which really seems to be off everyone's radar)
CROSSED BADLANDS (uneven defending on team, WISH YOU WERE HERE is much better)
WINTER SOLDIER/CAPTAIN AMERICA (until the end of Brubaker's run)
SHADE THE CHANGING MAN ( very underrated the art on this has been amazing)
    MANHATTEN PROJECTS
FRANKENSTEIN (still love this Matt Kindt has given it a shot in the arm)
FANTASTIC FOUR (the only long ongoing that I can say I have read every single issue)
    HAUNT
TEAM SEVEN (don't know about this but I loved LUTHER STRODE so I'll give it a try).

Warped - it's kind of a gritty 'private investigator is looking for a missing person' story. Features Dex, a female P.I. that drives a '65 Mustang, looking for the granddaughter of someone who's got her under her thumb a bit. It's good Rucka crime story in a four issue collection. If you like a good, quick story of the sort, give it a try.

@brianwood - Thanks for that, Brian. Enjoying things so far, looking forward to what comes.
  7.  (10827.15)
Stumptown is Greg Rucka doing the Rockford Files in Portland. His main character, Dex, is his vision of Chandler's best "man" in this world and a good enough "man" for any world.

(As a resident Greg Rucka nerd, I am fucking psyched for this.)

yeah I've got Love and Rockets New Stories 5 on order, looking forward to it.

Stumptown is good fun, I like those kind of detective stories where the main character spends most of their time getting smacked around by hired goons but still comes out on top.
