So, my little loves. It's finally here.

    Trade Paperback

The collected first arc of the Crossed webcomic, which has been running - and will continue to run - completely free of charge in 12-page weekly chunks, hits shelves today: in tpb, hardcover, and prestige-hardcover-with-scribbledy-signings formats.

It's the story of a small collective of survivors in the wake of a horrific world-changing event, who try to start a new life for themselves on a barren island off the tip of Scotland. It's brutal and very Not Safe For Work, but it's also very thoughtful, very experimental, highly disturbing, often funny and full of heart. I'm extremely proud of it, and - as the plethora of amazing reviews seem to attest - I'm confident it transcends gratuitousness and brings a melancholic new note to the genre which spawned it.

Also, in episode 3 a cow shits out a grenade and explodes. So, y'know. Buy it.

Obviously we'd rather you went and supported your local retailer (you should find it in bookstores as well as comicky dealerships), but if you can't make it out - or can't be arsed to go all that way - here are some links to Amazon. Be aware that it'll apparently take them an extra week or so to get the books into stock, so if you want your fix right now you really are better off sidestepping the evil A-Empire.

And then there's the limited edition variant-cover Hardback, signed by yours truly and cover artist Jacen Burrows, for which you really will have to visit your local retailer. There's only 1000 of the suckers out there, and my wrist still hurts from all the scribblement. Don't let me down.

Thanks so much for all your support, and keep watching the website. Two more episodes to go before the conclusion of arc 1, and arc 2 will be kicking off very soon thereafter.

AWESOME! I might "start feeling sick" here at work and head on over to the comic book store and read the hell out of some Crossed.

NOTE TO ALL. Spoilers regarding the last two episodes, which haven't appeared on the website yet, will be vaporised from high-orbit. And I've been deliberately starving the urethral maggots for a week. Don't do it.

Picked this up today, hadn't realised it was going to be such a hefty volume in print. Looking forward to devouring it in one sitting.

I'll pick up a copy in the next week or so.

I'm enjoying the way you're fleshing out your piece of the Crossed universe. Nice work on the part of Avatar, too, for publishing such a dark piece of literature.
