    woke up early to go vote (my local stuff is more important to me than the presidential one which i really dont get a vote in since i live in an Old People State), will hopefully avoid most of the Nighttime Horror by being at the CEREMONY/ TITUS ANDRONICUS show

    Facebook is positively luminous with reports of faulty or finnicky voting machines, attempts to keep people out of voting lines, and, here in good old Pennsylvania, attempts to get people to show photo ID even though you don't actually have to. I'm hoping a solid majority are false, but I'm also pleased that in the age of camera phones we're getting lots and lots of documentation.

    I'm also ready to join the Can't Wait For This To Be Over party. Do we get shirts?

    The Eleventy Bazillion Dollars spent on the campaign are part of the US economy, and that does benefit television stations in battleground states, direct-mail companies, telemarketing outfits, and so on. Which isn't inherently bad for the economy, and does serve to draw cash out of certain billionaires' offshore accounts and spend it domestically, but it also saps money away from productive parts of the economy.
