I'm always around outdoors, though that Friday is my birthday and that Saturday my mom will be in town. So I'll be sort of hard to track down. But Thursday would definitely be a possibility!
@dork - Thursday night is a possibility, though I'd have to find a place to stay in that area to avoid spending an extra 30 bucks going back and forth (being a cheap bastard on everything but comics and beer that weekend). My buddy in Hoboken may be around though. I'll let you know what's happening with me when I figure it all out.
If any of you folks need a break from the con on Saturday, we're running a Dr. Sketchy's at the bar Idle Hands from 4-7p - our model is dressing in a full mech suit as a Cylon, then will proceed to take it all off while you draw her. It'll be a good time and the bar we're at has an amazing selection of bourbons and craft beers.
I am trying to lure as many people out for it as possible.
Too broke to go this year, which sucks, but if we have this many people tooling around outside maybe I'll come hang out with you guys. It's been way too long since I've made it to a Dr. Sketchy's so I'll probably try and go to that at the very least. Hey Steve, let me know what happens with your Hoboken friend as you're always welcome to darken my doorstep if you need a couch to crash on.
@Spike - Thanks, Adam. I definitely appreciate the gesture, though I may have a friend or two in tow, so Hoboken is probably the better bet. Not sure exactly what's happening, but you'll hear from me before the Con weekend is out.
Anyone have any ideas for meetup places Thursday or Friday night? Even though I'm only about an hour away from NY, I don't frequent it, so I'm not sure what the good spots are.
Definitely understandable about working Thursday night, dorkmuffin. I'll probably just skip Thursday unless a few more people are trying to go out that night. No point to lone debauchery so far from home, eh?
As for Friday, I should be in the city for part of the day and most of the night. Who wants to meet up and where? I've been to the city a few handfuls of times, but I'm still a novice, so I lean on you all for direction. @Spike - Let me know if you're free that night.
Saturday I'll be at CC for the day and then probably go out at night. I've got a few groups of friends that I'm supposed to be meeting up with throughout the day, but I would be happy to make some time to chat with you fine Whitechapel folk. Afterwise, I believe a couple of us are going out drinking and would be up for suggestions there as well.
Anyone have anything planned yet, other than the actual Con? New Yorkers, help us out!
