   @dorkmuffin I love Future of the Left! I met some of them when they were Mclusky. Very nice people indeed. The drummer is my friends cousin = mild claim to fame.
   
   Thanks for kind words re: boingboing! My flickr account got a fucking hammering for a few days after. Amazing what a bit of 'net exposure can get you.

   @Jehrot, I met them the second time I shot them! I talked to the drummer for a little while and he was SO SO SO NICE! I got to shoot them three times this year which was AWESOME. They put on such a good live show.

   @allana No. The sky is, for most of the year, either a thick haze of dust/sand or a piercing cloudless expanse. Now it's winter time we get a few clouds and the light is glorious.

   @Flabyo - That occurred to me, too. Since there's no particular reason to start a new thread, other than the issue of having the wrong season in the title (and heaven help the antipodeans), maybe come January we could just start "The Photography Thread: 2013"?

    Uncle Warren started the seasonal bit back when the original photography thread became a bit unwieldy. Since he wandered off, I've tended to follow his pattern, starting new ones roughly every solstice and equinox (largely because traditional seasons are a bit of a running joke here in New Orleans, where the only three seasons we have are Tourist season, Hurricane season, and December, and those days are at nice, consistent intervals), but as I am entirely without authority and unapologetically lazy to boot, I will gleefully hand off responsibility for refreshing the thread to whoever wants it, and cheerfully encourage any experimentation with how long of an interval between thread reboots.
