@hex - I've avoided your spoiler cos I've not read the issue yet, but I agree with everything you have to say about The boys. One of my favourite ongoing series of recent years.

Can't wait for the last issue and see Hughie and Annie get back together (which is what we all know is going to happen, right?)

I've bin trying not to think about that too much, I don't wanna get burned.

@sneak - that's why I'm lucky I remembered to use the hide spoiler tags. That said, GO READ IT. It's always top of my reading pile.

One thing I noticed - I have the singles, including the first six Wildstorm issues. In ish six, there's a "next issue" box for the next issue, even though it switched to Dynamite with the next issue. So I imagine Wildstorm (and DC's) decision to ... not support it? Shit-can it? was quite sudden, if they had the cover art and description of the next issue, as if they were going to continue with it.

Another in aseries of bone-headed decisions from DC. On the other hand, THANK GOD. They'd probably try to continue it long past its shelf-life and reboot it every once in a while. CAN YOU IMAGINE a NEW52 version of the Boys? Ugh, I just threw up in my mouth a little. Two words - chin-spikes. Two more - Rob Liefeld.

Oh, yeah, Walking Dead was not bad. I used to read it in trade but I've bought the last few arcs in singles.

@Hex, I couldn't find it in either my two LCS' at the weekend so am waiting for it to arrive in the post...rest asured tho it will be read as soon as it drops thru my letterbox. I got the feeling (and this is very much just a hunch), that the decision to drop the title came from someone very close to the top at DC (were they a Warner Bros entity then, I cannot remember?), and it was a very hasty kneejerk reaction/response to the content of issue 6.
  1.  (10853.5)
Question - whatever happened to MORNING GLORIES? I stopped buying (for financial reasons) but it was pretty good. Anyone out there current on this book?

i dropped it too, liked it quite a bit at first (back when i was really getting into Nick Spencer before that infatuation dropped off a cliff) but then realized through issue 10 i couldnt even tell you the plot, and it was kind of just mystery upon mystery with no real progression. may go back once its done to see what the hell actually happened
  2.  (10853.6)
The rumour that bounces around about The Boys moving was that Mr. Levitz was disgusted by it, and I've stuck with it, Herogasm was shit, just made me not bother with the other spin off's. and overall the series could have been shorter, it had a stretched middle in my opinion.

    Godzilla Half Century War.

Zaucer Of Zilk is an interesting choice for IDW to publish, I read the series when it appeared in 2000AD earlier in the year and in my own opinion I wasn't massively enamoured with it.

man, i have most of this week off and i always hope for a big comic day...looks like only X-O MANOWAR for me though.

got bored on saturday and went to grab BATMAN, which was creepy as hell and well done. i wasnt really a fan of this run, but that issue is solid as hell. also picked up HALLOWEEN EVE which felt slight, inconsequential and kind of whiny. the art/colors look great but i finished and thought 'who cares?'. also looked at the kickstarter for it and saw it raised $21000. jeez.

Looks like just Godzilla HCW for me this week
  6.  (10853.13)
American Vampire Lord of Nightmares #5 (of 5)
    Batwoman #13
Before Watchmen Minutemen #4 (of 6)
    Chew #29

Another small-ish week for me, and I'm enjoying the Minutemen, it was the only Before Watchmen comic I was interested in, and it's been solid thanks mostly to the art. Batwoman I'll stick with until J.H. Williams III leaves it, it's very pretty but the story has been very weak since issue 1, it's no Elegy, and Chew is always fun.
  7.  (10853.14)
Not really sure this week... Batwoman has been rather meh and there will be a guest artist before the end of the story-arc. If I knew this would be the story-arc that ties everything together I would pick it up... but I am not sure it will and even if I did, I would probably end up practically giving them away when the story is done. I cannot really see me going back and reading this again. Which is too bad. JH Williams' art is amazing.

But I know I'll be getting Godzilla Half Century War #3 (of 5) because, well, it's James Stokoe! And the guy is just swell.

Hawkeye! I'm really loving this so far. Lots of nice touches to show the whole story is from Clint's point of view like having the speech balloons of someone speaking a language he doesn't understand containing the text 'French? Maybe Italian?', and a newspaper with the headline 'Bad things happening, blah blah'.

It's pretty clever, and the sense of humour is quite dry.
  8.  (10853.16)
OH SHIT, HOW DID I MISS THE RETURN OF GLORY????

ive been waiting what feels like forever, such a great comic

There's a double page spread in BATWOMAN #13 that is a labyrinth, in the shape of a bat that is actually, no bullshit jawdropping. My jaw hung open for 15 odd seconds. That's why I buy BATWOMAN every month.

(I'll talk about other stuff this week when I'm back from D&D tonight.)

P.S. Hawkeye is incredible, but you know that already.

    Comic I'm getting this week:
Multiple Warheads: Alphabet to Infinity #1 (of 4) -- Brandon Graham continue his series after a 5 year gap!

    Trade I'll get this week:
Hereville: How Mirka Met a Meteorite HC -- Met the writer of this book, his sales pitch about a Jewish girl wanting to slay dragons when she grew up and the teaser of the most epic fight with a pig to ever appear in comics made me pick up his first book, Hereville: How Mirka Got her Sword. I'm quite looking forward to this one.

    Comics I'll get in trade:
Batman Incorporated #4 -- How has Morrison's Batman been since Batman Inc. first started? I use to hear about his stories all the time, but it stopped shortly after Batman Inc started...
Invincible Iron Man #527 -- Fraction's final issue.
Prophet #30 -- Brandon Graham Goodness.
