FF #23 - I was a touch disappointed by the last Fantastic Four... loved the Doom stuff but the last few pages just fell a bit. I hope this picks it up. Invincible Iron Man #527 Prophet #30
A-BABIES VS X-BABIES #1 - why the art isn't by skottie young i don't know, wasn't his art the reason this is coming out? BATMAN INCORPORATED #4 - has been hit and miss since number #1 of this volume, good art though.
and holy hell the art from last PROPHET was so amazing, the examples shown dont do justice to the color palette that was used to highlight certain panels/actions. fantastic work. maybe my favorite current comic overall? its hard to pick these days with so much great stuff happening
Why did you order so few issues of Prophet that you sold out in one fucking hour while you ordered enough Punisher to ensure a handful will remain on your shelves for the next four months?

Comic I'm getting this week: Rachel Rising #12 -- Terry Moore is phenomenal.
Comics I'll get in trade: Happy #2 (of 4) -- Is this really just an excuse for Morrison to swear? Swamp Thing Annual #1 -- Looks like a great series. Ultimate Comics X-Men #18 UWS -- Brian Wood!
I've been thinking, other than Batwoman and maybe Invincible, have there been any new superhero designs in the last, say, 10 years that don't look like total gash?
CBLDF Annual GHOSTS (great week for fat, pricey anthologies! my favoritessss)
FATALE BEDLAM (maybe...the preview was great but Spencer has a tendency to start strong and fizzle out in my opinion. especially since i believe the preview was 'Before' and the series is 'After'...im really more interested in the total psychopath before part, not the high concept USA Network show after version. we shall see...the art is at least gorgeous)

hmm, thats tough. i do know that the entire INVINCIBLE world seems to be getting all of the cool new costumes/design quirks that the creative explosion of marvel in the 60s would have. theres so much going on there, if it was a marvel book there would be 6-10 spinoffs because that cast has lots of potential. i personally love the way it is so crammed full of stuff. its almost like if Spiderman was the only marvel book and you just saw glimpses of the rest of the world. i like stuff like that, crammed full of other things that you never get over-explained
I liked the designs for the Immortal Weapons in the Iron Fist comics. Ok, they were mostly based on fairly standard oriental tropes, but they worked and the characters were definitely iconic in appearance.
Hey i forget what's the etiquette for these threads? Can i mention my own book? Is this only for stuff in LCB brick and mortar shops or is something from amazon and digital ok?
...since theres no real authority on the board anymore, its kind of up to the 10 or so people who still care about comics on here. id say its cool to drop a line about your stuff, but please dont spam it with like 6 page previews. i would personally like to see it remain actual physical products, but that might just be me
I reckon FATALE will be the only thing off this week's list I'll be picking up, but I'm not too bothered cos I've got a copy of Brandon Graham's ESCALATOR collection I found in the sale section of the local forbidden planet that I'll be finally getting round to reading.
Week's like this are cool cos I can save a bit of cash, and catch up with the stack of things I've not got round to reading.
The not-a-real-authority on the board, who is in fact watching and can in fact squash accounts like squelchy little oysters, says: yeah, mention your own stuff, but don't hijack the thread with it and don't get stroppy if people aren't as enthused as you'd like.
