    A relative of mine went on a bit of a tirade about this happening mere days after Obama was re-elected, saying this was the first of many purges of government officials who might stand in the way of Obama's left-wing agenda to steal our guns and kill God. Or something. I sorta lost the plot after the fourth paragraph.

    I have a couple of relatives who were talking Obama conspiracy crap , something about killing the coal industry, when I finally just snapped a little and said.

    "Yes, you're right about everything. Soon the time will come and Obama will raise your taxes. He'll then use the money taken thusly to hire Mexican illegals to grow pot in your backyards, take away your guns and force your children to GAY-Marry Muslim abortion doctors! Mu hu ha ha. Mu hu ha ha. Mu. Hu. Ha. Ha."

    I got the stinkeye but at least they shut up about politics for a little while.

    Edited to add: you know this is extra bullshit because they're citing Colorado, Oregon, New Jersey, and New York. These petitions were also not started by states, they were started by people IN states.

    Also, an interesting piece about Petraeus, poiting out that his most scandalous affair was not with Broadwell but with the media :

    This was the kind of bullshit Ricks and Broadwell had been pushing — and it not only wasn’t called bullshit, it was embraced as serious work. Ricks wasn’t the only offender, of course — Petraeus more or less had journalists from many major media outlets slurping from the Pentagon’s gravy train. The typical route was to have all the cash and favors funneled through a third party like the Center for a New American Security.

    CNAS was a Petraeus-inspired operation from its inception in 2007, and it made its reputation promoting Petraeus’ counterinsurgency plans. No problem, right? Except that it put the journalists who were covering those same plans and policies on its payroll. For instance, New York Times Pentagon correspondent Thom Shanker took money and a position from CNAS and still covered the Pentagon; Robert Kaplan, David Cloud from the Los Angeles Times, and others produced a small library’s worth of hagiographies while sharing office space at CNAS with retired generals whom they’d regularly quote in their stories.

    Man, apparently Tony Harris is illiterate. That was painful to read, and not just because of the content.

    Dude is hating on posers, and I can get that. Dude is also hating on people that are just trying to get attention, and I can also get that. But dude doesn't understand that his hating on just women in his rant makes him look like a cranky member of a boy's club. I'm not gonna stop reading comics he illustrates, but he needs to stop being such a crank. Because for serious, he looks terrible.

    It's a shame people tend not to think before they post shit on Facebook or maybe he could have posted something semi-eloquent (though probably still riddled with capitalization errors. Seriously, why do people capitalize for emphasis? It just makes things massively irritating to read).
