We could all probably do with some cute baby animals right now - here's footage of the first outing for a newborn echidna from the breeding program at Perth Zoo.

With seven seconds left to go, there was no one to be seen on the ground. Bryant could still have diverted the missile at that point. Then it was down to three seconds. Bryant felt as if he had to count each individual pixel on the monitor. Suddenly a child walked around the corner, he says.

Second zero was the moment in which Bryant's digital world collided with the real one in a village between Baghlan and Mazar-e-Sharif.

Bryant saw a flash on the screen: the explosion. Parts of the building collapsed. The child had disappeared. Bryant had a sick feeling in his stomach.

"Did we just kill a kid?" he asked the man sitting next to him.

"Yeah, I guess that was a kid," the pilot replied.

"Was that a kid?" they wrote into a chat window on the monitor.

Then, someone they didn't know answered, someone sitting in a military command center somewhere in the world who had observed their attack. "No. That was a dog," the person wrote.

They reviewed the scene on video. A dog on two legs?

Did you know that stem cells were being used as part of cosmetic surgery? I didn't. I also just learned that, due an interaction with a "dermal filler", some stem cells became bone ... in a woman's eyelid.

Ultimate Fighter Suffers Penis Fracture During Sexual Intercourse
MMA fighter Ray Elbe -- who competed on "Ultimate Fighter 9" -- had to be rushed to a hospital in Malaysia earlier this month and required 10 stitches ... after he BROKE HIS PENIS during sex.
Elbe told the whole story -- in painfully graphic detail -- on an MMA website ... explaining how he was having sex with his GF, who was "on top" ... when she bounced a little too high, and crunched Ray's erect penis.
According to Ray, his penis "fractured" ... and "blood was everywhere." Ray says he immediately passed out from the pain.

The cosmetic industry scares the shit out of me. And I'm the type who willingly embeds a lot of shit in her body.

    @Foamhead

That is actually not an uncommon way for penis injuries to happen, but the fact that is happened to an MMA fighter is pretty hilarious.

Cystic fibrosis woman dies of cancer after being given smoker's donor lungs
Jennifer Wederell, of Hawkwell, Essex, died at home in August - 16 months after the transplant at Harefield Hospital in London.
She had been on the waiting list for a lung transplant for 18 months when in April 2011, she was told there had been a match.
She married her fiance David Wederell in September last year, but by February 2012 a malignant mass was found in her lungs.

Colin Grannell said he believes his daughter would not have agreed to the transplant had she known the middle-aged donor was a heavy smoker.

The hospital has apologised for not giving her that choice.

I definately wouldn't use vodka to stop myself freezing to death. It opens the capillaries so it actually makes you freeze quicker, also it doesn't freeze at earthly temperatures and so it gets as cold as the surrounding air and can cause quite severe damage to your insides.
It is useful for a number of other things though.
It stops foot odour if you rub it on your feet (obviously)
When mixed with shampoo (1:10) it helps with severe dandruff
You can use it as a super effective glasses (and regular glass) cleaner
    It helps cure virginity

King Ramesses III's throat was slit, analysis reveals
Conspirators murdered Egyptian King Ramesses III by slitting his throat, experts now believe, based on a new forensic analysis.

The first CT scans to examine the king's mummy reveal a cut to the neck deep enough to be fatal.

The secret has been hidden for centuries by the bandages covering the mummy's throat that could not be removed for preservation's sake.
