    I wonder if it's done by the guy who did a simmilar instalation a few years back with vat-made pet-things, and the wrinkly mole rat looking things. At least I think they were by the same guy; that critter thing has a simmilar vibe.

    What is interesting about Piccinini's work is that the creatures are not deliberately horrific, like Giger's aliens. They're simply . . . creatures. People derived from animals other than primates.

    What really sets off the freak, but at the same time is almost heartwarming, is the utter calm acceptance of the humans of these creatures. They are neighbors, maybe adoptive family members.
