Miami Dolphins cheerleaders do what my friend called a "stripper-tastic" version of Call Me Maybe. American troops in Afghanistan do a frame-by-frame recreation of their version. Hilarity ensues.
@dorkmuffin: Haha nice! It's interesting to see military guys to do what are essentially female songs/dance routines (It was done with Bad Romance if I remember correctly). Even if it is just parodying the dance, nice to see gender norms being taken much less seriously. Part of me wouldn't be surprised if being in Afghanistan is actually influencing that a little (I know from experience that nothing makes you want to get away with taking your clothes off and do goofy sexy things more than living in a place where you are expected to be covered head to toe and sex is serious serious shit). Because even though things are less strict for the men, they're still crazy strict.
[Having now read the article, and learned that beefsteak is her mainstay food and not that they're encouraging us to 'beefsteak' her 'mainstay', I did indeed read that wrong...]
[It just seemed like a brilliant, naive dating advert. Oh how I laughed.]
@Greasemonkey, hah! It's funny you post that! most of the people I know in NY who wear glasses LOVE Warby Parker. They think they're a great pair of glasses.
60 Minutes did a great expose on Luxottica that was pretty grim. They have virtually no competition except one big player....Walmart. In this one situation, Walmart is the little guy battling against massive organization that has entrenched themselves in every corner of the market. I find that irony delicious.
