Thank you, that looks really helpful! Drawing the Head and Hands also looks like it has a good supply of useful info on the differences between drawing adults and kids.

Oh god, the horror... and don't get me started on cherubim; those little bastards freak me out.

Well then I won't leave this photo lying around here.

Oh god sorry sorry sorry (AND I'm off topic. STOPPING. I fear the attack maggots)

Dammit, the comic will now be about infant thugs who mug angels for their bows! The writer will be so surprised.

That was completely on topic? ...Hiding now.

This means that the pressure in your engine is too high. Probably from having too much oil in there. Either that, or it's doing something called 'gassing up' which indicates a leak somewhere inside that's increasing the pressure.

Best thing to do in the short term is to get the oil changed properly at a garage that knows what they're doing. If the problem continues after that, get a second opinion on whether air's getting in somewhere it shouldn't.

Thanks glukkake and Ryan for your answers. I'm going with etsy then.

Thanks, Oddcult. I could believe having too much oil, since I was a dumbass and didn't precisely measure it the last time I added oil. I'll be more careful of that next time!

Seriously, the thing goes so slowly now, especially online with Mozilla. I go to a page, endure the "Not Responding" useless spinning cursor and maybe a full minute later, the page loads. This stuff also happens offline when I try bring up other files. I've been screwing around with Task Manager shutting down or activating programs but nothing seems to work. And I can just feel trillions of 'bots and viruses looking at me through my monitor and laughing. Please, help me.

Does your antivirus have a remote assistance option? Have their tech guy log on remotely and search for greeblies.

My anti-virus is Webroot, so I don't really know. I don't even know what a greebly is.

Greebly = slang term for viruses, trojans etc.

It may be worth your while doing a disk defrag. My Vista PC went from taking almost 10 minutes to become usable at boot to starting up in 2-3 minutes just by doing a proper full defrag. You probably also want to use a third party defragger rather than the built in one. I used something called defraggler, but there are others.

I get sent a lot of stuff to watch on YouTube by fellow musicians. The network here is frequently glacial. What I REALLY want to do is have all the things I'm supposed to watch preload while I'm off doing other things, like sleeping, and then press play ONCE and sit down on the couch while they roll. I'm willing to do some screwing about to make this happen each time. It will seriously save me a world of aggravation.

This is currently an all-Mac household. I personally still use FireFox because it is synced with my main machine at the studio and my laptop and I can't be arsed moving everything to Chrome. Any ideas?

First thought was to open the videos in different tabs.
Second thought was "Isn't there a 'watch this later' button on YouTube now?" I've never tried it, but the button is there. I don't think it pre-loads the videos though, simply creates a playlist for you so I don't think that will work...

As you have probably read in the open mike thread, I've been having problems with the Printer not mailing me stuff. It seems I'm going to have to find a alternative, at least for the printing end of things. And I certainly want to work with a professional printer because I want the best results. So, who do you recommend. I'm most interested in reliability and quality. And the ability to do proofs and have someone to work with so I can get the best results possible. I'll still get my artwork turned into digital form from the people I've been working with, but it seems that I'm going to have to get the actual prints done elsewhere. So, suggestions?

    Pwn youtube.
add "pwn" after the "www." but before "" and you'll get a bunch of options to download.

    #building a set

I've got an idea for a webseries, but it means I have to build the canopy of a "spaceship" and I have no idea how to actually build anything.
What i want is the cockpit of one man ship, like a Star Wars X-wing fighter or BSG Viper, that I can put an actor in and then shoot a profile shot of.
I'm thinking I just need to build a transparent canopy and a bit of the ship (like 6-12 inches below the canopy) and then have the actor enter the set from below.
Anyone have any idea where to start with this?
(I've never built anything like this before, i don't have much of a budget [maybe $300], but I've got access to a fair number of tools, as my father is a general contractor)

You can get full aircraft canopies, instrumentation, hell - I've just checked and even full ejector seats, on ebay. But a bucket-type seat with a four point harness, out of a car from a scrapyard would do the job too, Build a wooden frame, stick a seat in there, and add a load of instrumentation - probably also available from the scrapyard.

One other idea would be to go for a couple of ipads as finger-on-glass type instruments attached to your frame - you could put some simple animations on them or images of FOG instruments - and a game joystick in the middle, or buy/borrow old instruments and mix the two together. Maybe a couple of banks of illuminated switches too.

If you build something like this, then you've got more options for angles than just profile, which might get a bit stale.

My hatred of Adobe is longstanding and well documented. However, I kind of need the bastards in my life.

Is anyone on Creative Cloud? They're offering a pretty good subscription deal for existing CS owners right now, and I could do with some of the apps I don't have... ie Lightroom and Dreamweaver and the latest Illustrator - I can't upgrade my copy as it was grey market but I can take out a Cloud subscription.

Should every fibre in my being scream 'IT'S A TRAP'? Or should I take the King's Shilling?

#nixongoestochina - I haven't gotten it yet, just because I don't trust the idea of a subscription to software I should own. Also, check out the cancellation fees. Eek.
