    #Songs for Songe

My fellow's name is Songe, and I'm broke and trying to make him a birthday present. So I look to you guys to help me! I need song titles with the word "song" in it, that I could change to "Songe" and then draw a silly picture. He's big into metal, (crust) punk, ELO, and 80's stuff, so anything in those genres would be extra awesome, but really, any top hits would help!

    What I've got so far:

Killing Me Softly With His Song
I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song
    The Motown Song
    Thong Song
    Space Age Love Song
    Immigrant Song
    God Song

Ideally, not too many with "love" because that'd get redundant pretty quick. He's turning 38 (i think?) so I'd like at least that many to work with.

(oh man, I've got two days! He might get his present late.)

I'm really going to enjoy drawing the Thong Songe! Tee hee hee hee hee!

    The Logical Song - Supertramp
Sing a Song - Earth, WInd and Fire

AWESOME! Thanks, people! Keep em coming!

(you needn't link to the actual song, that's ok!)

How about the famously incomprehensible Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots?

    Interstate Love Song

I'll check my vast collection of musical crap when I get home, there's bound to be some useable titles in there.

It wasn't a hit that I know of, but Love in Reverse's "Blueprint for a Possible Song"

If he's getting sick of love songs, the obvious choice is Public Image Ltd., "This is Not a Love Song"

    Going through my iTunes:

"The Bed Song v2" Amanda Palmer
"Satan's Song" Bela Bartok (falls under the gypsy-folk-punk genre)
"The Party Song" Bela Bartok (you probably can't find them to download online, but I think your roommate has it all on mp3)
"Death Song" Choking Victim (classic NYC punk, also has a fantastic intro)
"Torch Song Trilogy" Handsome Boy Modeling School (Hip hop)
"Song for Miguel" Moon Hooch (3 piece instrumental band, sounds kind of like someone playing dubstep with saxophones, is one of my top fav bands you can find in the subways)
"Another Runaway Song" Reggie & The Full Effect (indie rock on the emo side)

My contribution to the #songsforsonge was a bit on the snarky and unhelpful side, so here's some penance. I tried not to repeat, but I'll be honest, I didn't check super carefully. I do think this is also just sort of an interesting snapshot of some stuff in my library, so there's that:

Acid Bath — Paegan Love Song
Agents of Oblivion — Song That Crawls
Aphex Twin — Girl Boy Song
    Atmosphere — A Song About a Friend
Ben Folds Five — Song for the Dumped
Ben Folds Five — Hospital Song
Botch — The Lobster Song (really just a cover of Rock Lobster)
Bright Eyes — A Song to Pass the Time
Built to Spill — Israel's Song
Chad & Jeremy — Summer Song
Charles Mingus — Haitian Fight Song
    Clouddead — Pop Song
Dax Riggs — A Spinning Song
    A million Decemberists songs
    DJ Shadow — Number Song
Fiona Apple — Tymps (the Sick In the Head Song)
Future of the Left — Suddenly It's a Folk Song
The Hold Steady — Certain Songs
Josh Ritter — Song For the Fireflies
Josh Ritter — Bone of Song
    Jucifer — Fight Song
    M. Ward — Sad Sad Song
    Minutemen — #1 Hit Song
Minutemen — Political Song for Michael Jackson to Sing
    Morphine — The Saddest Song
Mountain Goats — Song for Lonely Giants
Mountain Goats — New Star Song
Neutral Milk Hotel — Song Against Sex
    Nick Cave — Ship Song
Nick Cave — Song of Joy
    Nick Drake — Cello Song
Pig Destroyer — Song of Filth
    Radiohead — Pyramid Song
    Shellac — Watch Song
Simon & Garfunkel — 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)
Swans — Song For a Warrior
Why? — Song of the Sad Assassin
    Why? — Gemini (Birthday Song)

    The Cure - Kyoto Song

Surprised nobody got that one, frankly.

That's from the 1998 mini-series 'Merlin' starring Sam Neill and Isabella Rossellini. The scene in question, in Italian

I've just got a working holiday visa for Australia and currently thinking of heading to Tasmania in September. Main pull factors are outdoors stuff, avoiding crowds and farm work.

Anyone know anything about Tasmania to help me decide? Mainly worried about lack of work.

I reeeeeallly want to go visit the Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania: A long article about it:

If I could afford to get down to Australia, my plan is to hop a quick flight down there to visit.
