Shamelessly swiped off of Tumblr.
----
To play this game, go to MapCrunch, select “hide location”, make sure you have all countries unselected, and click go. What this will do is drop you in a random part of the world. It’s as if you woke up on the side of a road in an unfamiliar country. The goal of the game is to find your way to an airport so you can return home.

Bonus Hard Mode: No using outside sources, and that includes using google maps to figure out your location from signs or landmarks.

Sauce

Might want to tick the 'urban' box as well, cause getting dropped into the middle of Arizona means a LOT of clicking to find where you are...

Cheers for that. Simple fun, but probably the only way I would have ended up pottering about in a village outside Phuket tonight - apparently photographed on a summer's evening, in contrast to the black and rainy outside the window.

That said, trying to stop and read signs and incidental text along the way does not bring out the best in the 3d navigation engine.

Tried it last night, had fun doing it, problem I have is how long it takes to get anywhere.
It doesn't help that I got stopped from going the direction I needed to due to incomplete road mapping down a main road in Seoul.

But then I tried it in my own city and it took longer to get there than driving would have.

That being said, just using the site to wander around a random city is quite fun.
