You can't go wrong with a bit of Seefeel. And even further back there was A.R. Kane. No vocals admittedly, but Labradford hit the spot. Pauline Oliveros has been doing some amazing work, with choral vocals. And it rarely gets better than Bark Psychosis if you're in a mood for elegaic melancholia.
