Second skip week of the new season. Some margin-notes from Shaky's diary, and some thoughts on some newly-arrived pals... Next ep, as usual, on Thursday.

Liked the latest Shaky observations, but disappointed that there were only 3 pages and the rest was advertisements for the Crossed trades, all of which I have. I know you have to promote the work, but still...

Anyone who likes Crossed already has the trades, or is going to get them. Extra ads about Crossed comics on a site promoting a Crossed webcomic is kinda preaching to the choir.

Notice that many of those interludes were missing from the Wish You Were Here trade paperback? That bugs me almost as much as the missing captions from issue #1 of Garth's original series (as it appeared in the trade paperback, at least the one I own), the ones explaining how the cell phone services were shut down to keep the crossed from calling each other, and that cell phones thus worked only 5% of the time.
  3.  (10911.4)
Missing captions from Crossed #1 as reprinted in the TPB

3 free pages is 3 more than none. Gift horse, mouth.

Every convention I go to I meet folks who read the webcomic with no idea there's a print version. The extra ads remain.

Interesting new characters, though it makes it apparent that the new guys are going to end up 'on board', whilst the previous chapter left a lot to speculate on. Still interested to see whether anything does kick off between the two crews before they pool resources though.

Notice all the crossed chasing that new crew member, the old man on the log? We'll see how many of Jasper's group (or, for that matter, Shaky's posse) make it to Cava.

I'm still reading, and enjoying, this nasty stuff. Cheers, Simon.
