Especially as an American, I've seen women like Seline before. Kind of helpless in a way, which is tolerable in a normal world that has all the gears and parts moving correctly. But in a world gone mad, has a deep problem functioning. Seline seems the sort to be desperate for approval/validation, even now.

Not sure how much I like Seline being given whatever her mission is to make up for her first failure. Her having something to prove could lead to her taking risks and being reckless. Same goes for Viceroy and 'being lucky' with the Crossed. It's not luck, its only a matter of time. I'm guessing CEO of a major corporation, a big-wig in politics (after all, would you really recognize those guys on the street other than the PM or Pres?), or a former movie star/sports athlete out of the game for years. Probably not a famous writer, religious leader, or nobility as those are too close to other Crossed survivors. And big time lawyer is too obvious, unless Si has something really nasty (even for Crossed) in store for Viceroy.

In other words, I'm betting that the fact that everyone ignores him feeds into the theme that skills that were highly rewarded pre-Crossed are now mostly worthless and vice-versa.
