Uncharted 3 came with the PS3 I got, so that's being played before I go on to 1 & 2. But god DAMN, it's a fascinating game. I also keep thinking Drake is like Mal Reynolds as Indiana Jones, which helps me enjoy it more.

Couldn't resist so I played the first mission of Hitman: Absolution. Am kind of glad that I started on the easiest setting as I need to adjust my mind to stealthiness again. But so far really enjoyable! -
@twentythoughts - heh, I was offered a job to gm for DCU. I ended up declining it because I would have had to work every single weekend, and as I'm carless right now and the bus system can't get me there on the weekends, it was literally impossible. Boooo.

Any thoughts on PSVita? I got one for christmas (totally out of the blue). I feel like I don't know what I hold in my hands (I have only played uncharted for now)

I haven't activated my 30-day trial yet. Putting my credit card info on for a trial bothers me.

Yeah, Robin, I almost went for the thirty-day trial before they wanted my credit card details and it then automatically goes onto the paying membership. Not keen on all that.

Still, I'll hold on to it if I reach a point where I need a new PS3 and need to copy my data. But otherwise, meh.

@cardo: The Vita is pretty neat once you've got it. If you haven't got Gravity Rush, do pick it up... Until Soul Sacrifice comes out, it's the only really unique AND sweet experience the Vita has to offer. Also, the Vita version if Lumines (Electronic Symphony) is pretty essential.
It's also, right now, the best way to play Playstation1 games. So get to downloading some of those. Recommended are Final Fantasy 9, Tomba/Tombi (the name varies depending on the region), Alundra, Crash Bandicoot 3, and more. There are good PSP games to get for it, too. Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Half-Minute Hero, LocoRoco 2, Patapon 2...
There are a few good Vita downloadables too. Mutant Blobs Attacks is charming, as is Motorstorm RC.
Also, that rear touchpad. It's one of the Vita's biggest design problems, and it will cause you trouble, so you might as well get used to this hand position right here: Index fingers hovering over the shoulder buttons, long finger on the rounded area right above the touchpad, and ring and little finger supporting the system along with the ball of your thumb.

There's the Valve Steam box, which is a tiny but powerful computer.
Gabe and another Valve engineer have said that the Piston isn't actually the SteamBox. They're working with Xi3 on it, obviously, and it's being designed for playing high-end PC games, but the SteamBox itself will be designed and sold directly by Valve, , be running Linux, and eventually work as a server that will let you play different games on different screens. @chiaslut: I backed the Kickstarter for Numenera, actually. I'll be getting a core rulebook and all of the PDFs later this year. I'm pretty stoked about everything to do with it. -

I definitely get a Nathandiana Fillijones vibe from Drake, which is great. It makes me feel like if there is never another Indiana Jones film, we'll be absolutely fine. :) The wonderful thing about games is that you can be a lot more ridiculous than in a film without it feeling idiotic. -

It's because you are "in there" in a way that films just can't do. truly 3d films mean you would miss things. -

They also do a good way of making the characters feel more physical. They seem to have weight and physical limits in a way they often don't in games like Devil May Cry (Never liked those games) or God of War (love those games, though). There was one point I ran to the edge of a cliff and stopped right on the edge. The camera move to show the cliff face under me and the character animation combined to actually give me a half-second vertigo reaction. -

@twenty thoughts - sound advice, I was wondering about the kind of games the unique set up would favour, I'll certainly try some of your suggestions (gravity rush had caught my eye)! I have just been reading about the cramp inducing hand/claw grip position and agree with you there. There are some favourable reviews about the add-on hand hold type things. Have you had experience of those? Thanks again for the info! -

So, playing Hitman: Absolution...
And I'm really loving it. I think I've played about four hours or so and it's just been replaying the first two levels in a way to kill the target in different ways. And I adore the sense of community with the Contracts option. -

Holy crap, my old password worked.
Anyway, currently deep into XCOM, but looking forward to picking up Dishonored when I have more than half an hour spare. Still getting through the Borderlands 2 DLC as well - it's solid stuff, but just doesn't measure up to the main game in terms of humour. -

So putting the new ps3 through the numbers. Playing BL 2 still, which is entertaining but I can see how co-op would work much better. Also, started up Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, don't judge! It is actually very entertaining so far, the first time I transformed was a "Fuck yeah," moment. And ~ (mini-spoiler) ~ Metroplex. Yes. Metroplex. After I finish up one of these it's XCOM next. -
