You make a good point. Perhaps it's part of a deeper theme of corrupting power. What I was getting at is breaking my suspension of disbelief when the GK is able to continuously rape and expose others to unnecessary danger with impunity. Also, Shaky making irrational choices which contradict his survival. He won't die from lack of cheese but he could die from lack of medical attention.

Only one member of the original sortie, Seline, has died. The other one, the geezer with the supposed crossed immunity, was from Jasper's crew.

As for the Gamekeeper's necessity, I guess so far in those flashback scenes that Shakey's group regarded Agnes getting forced to perform oral sex as preferable to death by starvation, by dehydration, by poison (eating toxic wild berries),or by getting violently gang-banged by a bunch of sadists who are simultaneously stabbing and chopping at them with whatever knives or cleavers are handy.

Yeah, at its most basic it's a case of "suck my peen or you all die because you're useless".
Extrapolated in the sortie to Shakys rationalisation of cuntish actions he has to undertake in order to get what he wants/needs... But the end question is, what takes precedence? His desire to feel alive in the midst of danger, or the continued survival of the island colony?
Answers, as always, on a postcard.

What about Jackson? He was on the original landing but not on the return trip. Is it assumed he's not coming back?

Did he disappear before they saw the bandaged-up/raggedy guy on the hill? Maybe that's his batman disguise.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Jasper didn't steal the supplies and leave his crew members to fend for themselves, but instead is using them to spy on the Cava survivors and look for a weakness to exploit. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not sure which ending I would prefer least; Ramons idea, by extension, leading up to Shaky returning to find Cava on fire or overrun, or a "Get back safely to intact island with physical health but additional horrible mental trauma" bit.
It MUST all tie into the GK and Theresa and the letter and the Jasper man.... SURELY TEH JAYSIS

agnes is going to get shot by her husband, and the gameskeeper's shotgun is going to be shown to be empty: just like Ritchie's rifle.

Why has nobody suggested they visit a library to pick up some useful books?
  3.  (10985.9)
Great idea about the library! It might help Shakey learn more about the scuttling of the German fleet in the Scapa Flow (there were 52 scuttled ships, and 45 of them were successfully raised by 1939). Of course, if bulk is an obstacle considering his sortie's limited cargo space, then perhaps by luck can Shakey come across a gadget similar to the following:

    just a wonderful, wonderful series.

aoeliann / boxing gloves is "looking out" for shaky. still curious about the X -faces / "thinking crossed". most curious to see how an X - face gets made.

If the crossed were made men, then Horsecock would be their godfather.
