    I don't approve leaving a former dental nurse behind. Regardles of frailty her skillset, knowledge and experience would be valuable to the Cava community. As far as im aware, Cava has nobody with any medical training. She doesn't seem disruptive, and could offer a different perspective on problems facing the community. She could also help with gardening or watching livestock. How much cultural history had already been lost, without throwing the elderly under the bus? Shaky, why do you do this?

    Viceroy picked the entirely wrong time to be assertive with the missus. Now that you explore the justification for leaving the old woman behind more than you like cheese, I can accept that. You still probably could have strapped down some of those luxury items in some unused spaces on the boat. The fine delicacies might go a long way on Cava.

    And another justification for the Crossed. They are beyond the breaking point. I get the feeling everyone's theories are in some way right. I would like to hear the backstories for the new passengers at some point.

    And again, here's where it's prudent to mention that you don't always have to agree with the protagonist. You don't have to trust Shaky's view of how things went down in the army base. You don't have to agree with his motives or actions. Hell, you don't even have to agree with his perception of the events that unfold. He can misread, misinterpret, hallucinate.

    The fact that most of the story is told entirely through Shaky's perspective leaves a lot of stuff open. And I like that.

    You've got to love a review of a survivalist horror comic - renowned for its bleakness and brutality; revolving around a character so soured by this new world that his ethics, motives and feelings are corrupted and questionable - which begins "I don't approve..."

    So the dental nurse is doomed, but then again, so are all the others anyway..., Shakes might wander off to an uncertian fate at the end, but I figure it'll be good night for pretty much all the others soon enough. There is no hope... ;-)

    And Viceroy, oh no, you shouldn't have told them your story...!

    ...Agnes - looks like the suffering is about to end, but who will eat the shotgun shell? hmm..., I thought Sister Teresa would finish off the GK? Hope next week won't be an interlude week... :D

    And that's our new Remake/Remodel after the Pope-Off: Crossed: Dilbert. Actually, why stop there? How about just over all Crossed: Sunday Comics? Crossed: Blondie, Crossed: Mark Trail and for the really sick, Crossed: Peanuts.

    I'm going to leave the analysis of this week's episode to the rest of the loyal commenters, and simply ask:

    Why is there a thoughtbubble coming from Richie in the first panel depicting a poorly drawn turdhill?

    Also, I do hope that Lloyd has checked that shotgun for shells, and has one in the chamber. I wouldn't put money on even the most righteously peeved toff against the Gamekeeper, no matter how... compromised the latter's current position may be.

    I was half expecting Viceroy to admit to being a serial murderer before the Crossed outbreak, but that was already done by Garth Ennis and his Geoff character in the original series. Viceroy's story was slightly similar, but I suspect that the Cava crew won't find him to be much of a threat as opposed to the prospect of Stan & Cindy's party keeping an outed psychopathic torturer around Patrick.

    Next week is interlude week. I enjoy those, too, except they're too short!

    Interlude week, oh no!!!!! I found it quite horrible when they left behind the oldster with her plaintive 'don't leave me', like leaving my mum behind. So headed back to Cava, wonder what they are going to find.

    Depends on what they <em>did</em> bring back. May have been they had one main calibre they needed ammo for and taking a box of shells just for one gun might have been a waste of space.

    I think Lloyd will kill the GK, and Agnes will hate him for it. She knows he's the one that's keeping them alive.

    They should have stashed the extra supplies for future snatching, as well as taken along the old lady not just for humanitarian reasons, but so that she could teach what she knows about dentistry to someone else. The Cava survivors aren't going to live too long if gum disease sets hold and runs rampant, nor will the crossed for that matter.
