I didn't exercise of my own accord at all (apart from Taekwondo when I was 12-15, but I was still a chubby little bunny then) until I was 24, so the last six years have been a slow and very uneven upward curve. I weigh less now than I have ever done at my adult height (I'm at my target now, staying around 70-71 kg) and as I keep lifting weights and doing cardio and watching what I eat, I keep seeing new definition appearing with semi-regularity.

For someone as inherently lazy and testosterone-less as myself, it has been a hard battle but one I've managed to stick with, and that - more than the look or feel of me - gives me a lot of strength to face my mental barriers for other things. I know I can push through, I've proven this to myself now*.

So thanks for being so nice, it really means a lot. :)

Best thing you can do is send an email with some photos of your work (preferably with as little clothes as possible, though very tastefully*) and especially if it involves costume/body paint so it gives them a good idea of what to hire you for. And if you want to give yourself an extra push, tell them Melissa from Headquarters/NYC told you to get in touch with them as a recommendation. They might be booked for a few months but they should fit you in eventually. And usually, once you're in with one branch, as you travel around the world you can keep dropping names/cities you've modeled for and you're far more likely to get accommodated.

I had a think about this yesterday, and what it takes for me to do nudity/ implied nudity and other such things. I realised that it needs to have a core idea to it. As long as it's not just "here's a nude dude for wank banks" I'm good. :) Even if it's just "I want to do a nude that's lit or framed in a certain way" it's instantly a lot more interesting than "I want to do a nude because Nekkid!" At all times, I need to think about the future of my career, so I need to have "easily defensible" portfolios.

Anyway, I digress.

Glu: Yeah, the photographer for this set told me that she has a lot of trouble getting guys to sit for her. A lot of guys seem really interested but back out pretty swiftly. Even the "I'm so hot, I just HAVE to take a photo of myself in the mirror with my phone and show the world" douche bags, who you would only go to when you're really desperate for models, seem to be surprisingly cowardly when it comes to this sort of thing.
