It's Thursday, it's mid-afternoon in London, it's another wrongheaded morning in Mericky, it's who-the-fuck-knows-when in Australia, and it's time for more Crossed Hideosity.

    Episode 41, live and free-to-air.

Remember: Not safe for work, not safe for minors, not safe for people of a nervous disposition, not safe for MAGMA, not safe for bosske sky planter, not safe for Goslett Yard.

I have to admit, I thought Jasper was going to get captured by the nun and then lead her to Cava. I am guessing now, that what will happen is: weird shit will start going on again with Jasper always joking that it is the devil-nun that he doesn't believe exists. But then she makes her big entrance.

I like the whole Jasper as "king shit of turd hill" bit though. And the mention of poor Mr. Masoud is a good reminder: I had forgotten about the little boy - such a sad little side story.

There have been too many sightings of the nun to be just a figment of Shaky's imagination. I get a feeling that Jasper hijacking the group will go downhill quickly. Instead of keeping their heads down, Jasper and all the other aggro-types will call attention to Cava. When the plusheads come, Shaky will have a choice and choose to cut and run on his own as he feels the group turned on him for someone who is an asshole.

Shaky may feel that ultimately being alone is his penance for being who he is and what he's done or not done. Viceroy is not the lucky one, Shaky is, because he keeps on going. Even in the new world, same as the old one, he lives for himself in the end and is more self-obsessed than anything.

    Thoughts, Si?

So Mr. Masoud is ok with his daughter fellating Jasper? Maybe he just doesn't know about it, deliberately ignores any evidence of such, or maybe Jasper's just bluffing about that and about fucking Elisa twice each night.

Noticeably missing from the list of Cava residents who'd turned on Shaky are Tabitha and Viceroy. Surely they must hold him in a higher regard than the others who didn't accompany him on the sortie.

I still think that the other Cava residents, especially the alpha types (Des, Elisa, Skip), gave up Cava to Jasper way too easily. It wasn't Jasper's leadership that's been keeping them alive, sheltered and fed, all this time. Doesn't make any sense to me, but of course does Simon know his characters a lot better than I do.

Wow talk about a karmic arse kicking, poor Shaky :D. Well at least he has his Crossed nun girlfriend's place he could crash, as long as he can stand the wonton cow bombs and staple guns (still not over that).

Just thought of something. With the nun in the company of the soldiers from the overridden base, plus what we saw before, it looks like the nun was shadowing Shaky throughout his entire trip.

Which raises the question, was she just missing him or is she following him for some other twisted purpose? Seems way too convenient that she's just partyin' so close to Cava instead of making a move, especially since we've seen her completely capable of leading a boat party.

About this issue -- fun stuff, although I'm finding it hard to believe everyone switched allegiances so quickly. I understand people hating Shaky but he never was a leader of the larger group anyways. Elisa hooking up with Jasper has to sting...it always seemed that Shaky had a soft spot for her. Interesting how Tabitha and Viceroy are keeping quiet. They seemed to respect Shaky the most during the Sortie. Plus, Tabitha has that whole entire fellow artist thing going on. She has shown surprising bad judgment in romance though...

I might have missed out having not read the annual with this last comment. But man, I wish a certain favorite Scot could show up. He did take off after Jasper showed up.

Also, I'm thinking that heat viewer has to be a Chekhov's gun. I wonder what crossed look like through it? I wonder how the nun looks?
  6.  (11015.9)
Shaky will be fine. It's just that no one on the island thinks of him as a nothing anymore. They expect much more from him and are disappointed. He can turn it around. He has GOT to start playing hardball, however. No more Hamlet shit.

Don't believe Jasper at all. At all! But... He knows what he wants and goes after it. I respectfully disagree with interpretations that the others are "loyal" to him. For christ's sake, Des especially is loyal only to himself. It's just that Jasper has momentum for the moment.
  7.  (11015.10)
Agreed. I don't think many people are loyal to Jasper at all, they're intimidated and a bit afraid of him. And they don't want to risk the consequences of challenging him and failing.

If things suddenly start going not-so-well for Jasper, I suspect he'll find himself alone in a hurry.

Somehow I don't think it's quite time for Cava to be overrun yet even if Jaspers, leadership will end in disaster. Wonder who Jasper will get killed...., I figure Tabitha, Viceroy and the Aussie boatman are in the risk zone...

Right now though I'm curious about the devil himself, Mr Game-Keeper, and what happened before Shaky landed on Cava...

@JohnnyRocket324 Those could be soldiers from the town with the mortar. I don't think that the nun was after Shaky at first necessarily. I don't think she knew he was on Cava. But she does now: I think the wrapped-up Crossed with the boxing gloves works for her. And he was definitely following the group. He is also the one who followed Jasper back to Cava and found Shaky's letters.

Any chance we could see some petty prejudices catered for?

Say a few choice show biz skewerings, perhaps a smatter of politicos receiving crossed hospitality
..and traffic wardens ..and dont forget tax inspectors ..they should be seen to get theirs too –

Im voting crossed this election - by proxy
