Magnus - it's nice. Crisp, clean production and good structure. For my tastes it needs to be dirtier. Have you gotten into using delay and filters and such on your individual drum and bass sounds, or are they clean? I could list some Ableton plugins I use to dirty everything up. I also can't recommend enough adding a layer of ambient noise/found sound - record some big, echoing space and layer it very quietly under the tune. Binds and fattens.

@magnus - I like it, but I agree that it seems a little too clinical and clean. Maybe a sound bed of some kind, or some reverb. It's a bit too much like the theme music for a kids' sci-fi tv programme than a dirty dance track. Or add a growly vocal, or something. For what it is, it's good, and the basics are there, but it just doesn't quite sound right. If it were me, I'd maybe try splitting it out into stereo through two amps or speakers and micing them up and then putting them back into two separate channels, or something like that maybe.

Anyway - have another of mine: https://soundcloud.com/wrank-1/i-should-pogo-album-version

Yeah, I know there's a bit of coughing in there which needs to come out. This is my attempt at doing British pop-punk.

    A touch more noise.

But I think that your structure and sound choice is interesting (and listenable).

Possibly 'muddy' because you are missing mid range frequencies in some of it?

But quite Bristol... certainly of the time I was round there (88-mid 90's) :-)

Thanks for the comments folks. Yeah, I think I may have stripped back a lot of the reverb in this incarnation as Send and Return tracks seemed to burn up all my processing power. Once I get up towards about 40 parts I can only listen to the thing by rendering it out, which is a bit of a pain. I will have a play with some delays as well. I'm thinking it needs more of a hook, maybe some glitched up vocals. I was experimenting with piano loops last night, so I'll see what seems right.

I love the punk btw Oddcult. :)

So today I had nothing to do, so I made a mashup:

    Bouncy bouncy!

And then, for no discernible reason, I made another one.

    Hippedy hoppedy!
