    Having recently done a couple pornographic stories about Batman-on-Robin cosplay, I'm all perved out on the subject of avian-themed sidekicks of airborne-mammal-themed crimefighters. So I took a kinda for-reals approach, imagining Si's instructions coming out of the mouth of Geoff Johns (back in Michigan for Easter with the family, but hiding out and getting drunk in a Lansing bar), and inviting me to pitch a new version of the concept for Earth-53.

    @dorkmuffin - Yeah, that was me probably running the 'avian' theme way into the dirt, and a call out to the most favored foot gear of the ninja why not?

    @Jason A. Quest - Kudos to you for going deeper into the mythology of the bird than "gets fucked up on old fruit", AND for having a great idea.

    @HerrHussein That is fucking amazing.

    I can't even imagine how much more my mind would have boggled if I wasn't aware of the tanuki thing.

    I'm only wondering why a tanuki, otherwise that is brill, @Herr Hussein.

    Or maybe just because I am overcompensating for Mr Sizer's missing bulge here.

    The Boy Wonder

    Why would someone who dresses in black, operating at night using stealth and shadows put their young ward in a bright outfit that even the most asinine of henchmen could hardy fail to notice? The sad truth is that this sidekick is nothing more than a a humble sacrifice, sent to soak up bullets and divert attention from the man in black. This brightly adorned Boy Wonder is utilized in the same way that coal miners would once use cadged canaries to warn of impending doom.

    I didn't have much by way of time or supplies and my scanner's on the fritz, but here's mine. Bruce Wayne won a baby orangutan in a poker game while in Thailand.

    @Allistermac: Yes, I've wondered what the practicality was of having a sidekick with a bright yellow cape when you are a hero who uses the darkness as a weapon.

    Don't worry; I'll post my bulge here soon enough....

    @Paul, argh. My bad. I swear that all this possessive noun was originally supposed to do in that sentence was to give you the credit of discovery.

    The one-two-three punch of Berserker, Jason and Hussein had me snickering, then grinning, then outright guffawing. Dammit.

    @Herr Hussein: Ha! no worries, I wasn't offended. It was a good call to action, to get my lame ass into drawing my submission!

    It's not the Sizer your bulge, it's what you do with it!

    robin and the bat

    Wow, these are pretty damn creative, I might have been too obvious in mine. In other news, I'm trying out a new signature on my artwork, something I've been lazy about.
