    You know how this goes.

Memes. Virals. Musical Insanity, video villainy. Any and all bait for the following conditions: mouth-smirk, diaphragm-rip, arse-leak, colleague-dismissal. That which renders the working-day bearable. That which dooms culturists to misery.

Your net foragings. The scum which accumulates on the surface of your inbox. The froth on the drunken face of the world. The gorgeous spraint of the massmind. Bring it all hither.

(Note that news stories and Things Of Interest now have a separate home in the “NewStrange” thread. This right here is where we present anything that would be fundamentally valueless, if it weren’t so clearly brilliant.)

We were talking about that at work the the other day (IT shop). It is pretty depressing to be honest. When those kind of botnets are harnessed to send spam or DoS a website off the Internet, there's really just no defending against it. And it is all just down to laziness or ignorance. Most of the devices were compromised just because they were left with default out of the box passwords, or were devices that nobody much thinks about securing (copiers, print servers, wireless access points, phone systems, routers and the like).

All it to fix most of it would take is for such devices to just force passwords to be set or changed when the system is installed. All the fancy security in the world can't protect against doors left unlocked by design.

Just in case you haven't seen this floating around the Tumblrs :

First there was Bartkira by Ryan Humphrey, a few pages from Akira, redrawn with characters from the Simpsons.

This inspired James Harvey to launch the Bartkira Project : more than 300 artists will redraw the entirety of Akira with Simpsons characters. Kaneda is Bart, Tetsuo is Milhouse, etc...

I'm really curious to see where this is going.

Oh, good, then it's not just me.

Jeezus, Ford. You guys make yourselves really hard to like, some days.

As usual with these things it doesn't look like it's Ford at fault. It appears that someone at an ad agency created and released onto the 'net three images, including the one above.

Of course, whether it matches a brief Ford gave the ad agency isn't clear, but they're denying it.

Incidentally, is it just me or are the legs of the woman at the back left badly out of proportion to her head and body?

It just grosses me out that a group of people (more than one) thought it was a good idea.

Also, I didn't know ball gags were made in that size. *coughs*

@oldhat I don't think that size makes a very good gag... if we're gonna be practical about this

Based on the facial expressions I think they may just be Werther's Originals on elastic.

The success of those gags seems to rely on making that weird pouty duck face. I'm certain I could carry on a conversation while wearing one of those.

But then you'd get dribble all over the trunk of that expensive new Ford. Have a little fucking consideration, yeah?
