    It's both amazing and shameful that it lasted as late as it did.

    Of course at one point they tried a version without the blackface, and it completely tanked. I really don't like to think about what that says about the viewing public of the time.

    Coinkydinkilly, I was trying to describe The Black & White Minstrel Show to a friend in America the night before last and they were pretty incredulous it could be deemed wholesome, primetime family entertainment, even back in the day.

    My parents loved it and watched every week, whereas I disappeared to my bedroom as soon as it came on. I'd like to say it was because I objected to the subtexts of the show but it was totally down to being so fucking shite.

    Not really worth beng in the photography thread. I've seen this piece of street art
    make most people giggle everytime they walk past it. Magrite inspired comedy street art.
