It's not that she didn't want a state funeral - she didn't want the necessary approval/debate that would be required by the house of commons so she settled for a lavish (might as well be a state funeral) ceremonial funeral.

yeah it's fairly lavish, she'll get the same funeral as the queen mother and lady Diana.
(interestingly, does she deserve it more than royalty? she undoubtedly did a lot of work (whatever you think of the outcomes) and changed the face of Britain and politics, whereas they married the right people....)

I think once you start asking questions like that you quickly disappear down the rabbit hole of trying to justify anything about the royal family.
  3.  (11025.4)
Listen, surely you can see the importance of marrying into the divinely selected rightful royal line over a lifetime of toil and ruthless ambition?

I'm too busy being disturbed by the possibility that you're Mancunian and we went to school together BUT HEY.

    I liked the video here.

Satire alive and biting at National Union of Students Presidential Hustings.

The Rod does not “do” glowstick vigils. It wants revenge.

It will not abandon the biggest wave of occupations in British history in order to pursue an exciting career in consultancy.

The Rod does not care more about broken windows than broken skulls...

The Inanimate Carbon Rod is not a joke candidate. It is a serious candidate for what has become a joke position.

It’s not a joke. It is serious. It is a product of a decade of stupidity, incompetence, irrelevance and personal opportunism.

It will never be offered a safe Labour seat. And it will never be NUS President.

@imaginarypeople: I was with the guy until I came across this - "There is convincing evidence that an atomic blast happened in the Middle East thousands of years ago. There is also evidence that ancient civilizations possessed highly advanced technologies that have since been lost. (A full discussion of this is covered in Jim Marrs’ new book, Our Occulted History.)"

Yes, overpopulations is a problem, and we need to be significantly more cautious about our resources, but when you start citing a book about secret alien overlords, your credibility goes to shit.

@ trini_naenae - yeah it makes alot of good points but they had to pull a history channel at the end there.

Yeah, that website is bunk. I mean, it's fun but the contributors have more imagination than facts. Which is fine unless you claim to present facts. Which they do.

Anyone recall the overpopulation hysteria of the 70's?

Has anyone seen the documentary Collapse?

Is An Alien Message Embedded In Our Genetic Code?

Vladimir I. shCherbak of al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan, and Maxim A. Makukov of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, hypothesize that an intelligent signal embedded in our genetic code would be a mathematical and semantic message that cannot be accounted for by Darwinian evolution [...] They go on to argue that their detailed analysis that the human genome displays a thorough precision-type orderliness in the mapping between DNA’s nucleotides and amino acids. “Simple arrangements of the code reveal an ensemble of arithmetical and ideographical patterns of symbolic language.” They say this includes the use of decimal notation, logical transformations, and the use of the abstract symbol of zero. “Accurate and systematic, these underlying patterns appear as a product of precision logic and nontrivial computing,”

I can't help but wonder when the Kazakhstanis hired Borat to run their scientific program...

    @trini, I didn't even get that far
The population control agenda is being run right now, right under your nose, through programs like toxic vaccines, free abortions, geoengineering pollution (chemtrails) and GMOs. The point of all this is to collapse the human population and get it “closer to zero,” as Bill Gates often explains

GMOs are potentially the most important thing in the world in a time of mass population increase and dwindling natural resources.
"hey why not make yams contain valuable nutrients so that millions in the third world won't starve?"
"well you know I don't eat anything that isn't organic, and Frankenstein is scary right? do you know what's also scary, a woman's right to choose"

    fuck him

Guys, the big flashing warning sign was right there in the URL.
Although, I'm probably only saying that because I'm a time-travelling Illuminati spy who's going to HAARP the shit out of your MKULTRA as soon as I find my ancient alien chemtrail-cannon.

That's kind of a stumbling block for me, too. The guy has spent the previous parts of the article explaining that overpopulation will destroy our civilization and lead to our extinction. And yet he doesn't support efforts to reduce that population. Kind of a logic fail for me.
