@johnjones, read the site's "about" or look at the site's tagline.

I guess that 'One third of Americans believe Obama not spanking Michelle enough' as the current headline is faintly plausible, yes...

    Gentlefolk, start your fuel cells!

A team of Virginia Tech researchers has discovered a way to extract large quantities of hydrogen from any plant, a breakthrough that has the potential to bring a low-cost, environmentally friendly fuel source to the world. Zhang and his team have succeeded in using xylose, the most abundant simple plant sugar, to produce a large quantity of hydrogen that previously was attainable only in theory. Zhang’s method can be performed using any source of biomass. This new environmentally friendly method of producing hydrogen utilizes renewable natural resources, releases almost no zero greenhouse gasses, and does not require costly or heavy metals. Previous methods to produce hydrogen are expensive and create greenhouse gases.

(Assuming it's not all BS, obviously...)

Not to shit on everyone's parade (because I do love a good morbid joke), but the cause I saw reported was stroke.

Carry on. Nothing to see here. I've finished shitting on everyone's party.

Apparently #nowthatchersdead is also being read as NowThatT(erri)HatchersDead.

I am reminded of this effort from Mark Thomas...

(Funnily enough the only copy I can find is from a site criticising it)

Moving on, because to be honest I think the best way to deal with Thatcher is to move on swiftly (and my god I wish the news here would, getting very bored of the constant stream of 'Tory politician says she saved Britain, Labour politician says she doomed it, now a vox pop with some people dancing on a newspaper picture of her face, REPEAT CONSTANTLY ALL FUCKING DAY)...

Advertisers, pissed off at us skipping the commercials, are turning to CG to drop their product placement into shows after filming has occurred...

It used to be said that all new technology eventually gets used for porn. I think that advertising usurps that these days.

Eric Cantor is a smug dickbag. Eugh.

Also you'll be pleased to hear that I heard coverage on BBC World News this morning (NPR runs it) that made numerous references to her being a widely disliked character.

Also she's not getting a state funeral. But before you rejoice, it is apparently because she didn't want one.
