Plus, even if there is some kind of horrible deflation disaster, it certainly won't be the first time popular music has disappeared up its own asshole...

So what if your government is shut down? At least you don't live in the monster movie that is Shaanxi, China.

Attacks by hornets in northern China have killed 41 people since July, state-run media report.
More than 1,600 people have also been injured by stings in Shaanxi province, according to China News Agency.
It says 206 people are still being treated in hospital, with 37 patients remaining in a critical condition.

    Shots fired at the capitol

You know the drill, people : don't believe any of the early reports, as they will turn out to have been completely wrong one way or another. It'll take at least 24 hours before we can have a clear idea of what actually happened.

Right now, the few people who know exactly what's going on will not be speaking to the press, and the people who are speaking have no idea what's happening.

Look at the fucking stingers on those hornets.

    No.

    Shan't

Or I will never sleep again. Several thousand miles away IS NOT FAR ENOUGH. I want to be on a different PLANET to those things.

Is it legal to import those hornets? I want to have a large supply of those in case I ever became a super-villain.

In the mean-time, it is entertaining to imagine a swarm of those babies turned loose in a meeting of the Tea Party caucus.

I had to keep checking the URL to make sure this wasn't a spoof. But, nope, doesn't seem to be.

Fox News makes the case for Obamacare.

There are a handful of freethinkers at both major cable news networks. People who think for themselves. Obviously the author of this article is one.

People forget Fox News gives a home to Bob Beckel and fired Michelle Malkin. CNN keeps Jake Tapper and fired Keith Olbermann. Juan Williams has worked on both. So has Glenn Beck. Broadcast journalists are going to go wherever they get the best deal.

Yeah, Fox News has a token liberal writer.

This is doing the rounds today...

Over 100 long-lost Doctor Who episodes found by dedicated fans - in Ethiopia

Seems just a little too good to be true, sadly.

Yeah, about every six months it's alleged that these have been found. I won't believe it until the BBC themselves make the announcement. Then I'll do actual cartwheels.

Well, the Radio Times is sort of reporting the same thing, although they are a little vague and seem to be hedging their bets.

I have adjusted my expectations. If this turns out to be real I will no longer be "astonished", merely "pleasantly surprised." If not, I shall continue to support the reconstruction efforts through the art of animation.
