That gun that exploded in Jasper's hands worked just fine when Richie used it to save Shaky's life from that little crossed kid back at the garrison.

I am wondering. I still think she is crossed - look how her scar lights up just like the others under the IR scope. Plus, it just beggars belief that she somehow hasn't gotten splattered with crossed cum or blood or something.

**SPOILER** (Sort of) If you haven't read Chapter 23!!

    Awesome. As always.

    Si = in-fuckin-credible stories!

Oh yeah, and...just stand there like a douche Shakes, while the hottest nun on what's left of the planet (that you're also pining for) gets crammed by a geezery old knob. Pussy.

I've long wondered if somehow the Nun wasn't crossed, and it was all an act for survival. Remember that she was easily willing to pretend to be shagging Shakey when called upon...

Reading chapter 23, I would say that being Crossed is more of a state of mind that the actual infection just brings about. I read on some comic site how it was thought vaguely that the Crossed virus had some supernatural origin to take hold as it had worldwide at once, although beyond that maybe idea, no supernatural aspects ever play itself out in the comic. If the infection does the part of just bringing a victim to a state of mind, then presumably someone already in that open do anything mindset would classify as Crossed without actually being Crossed biologically. The nun's behavior counts as much as whatever she is biologically.

I would say that the Crossed virus is more mind over matter, mind affecting matter, than actual matter. What I mean is that physically the virus induces the physical cross rash and makes ALL body fluids Crossed vectors, and also physically creates a mental slide to the Crossed manic state. The Crossed can ignore pain and injury, the elements to an incredible degree. Pain becomes pleasure, or it does not factor in the same way. I remember in the first Crossed trade there was a woman who was literally cut in half by a pickup truck and expressed that as pleasurable. Or there was a Crossed pack in the first trade that had a Crossed with a baseball bat and a leg that was severely damaged. The ankle was blue and twisted severely. Yet still the Crossed carried on, although he was killed by the pack leader for being the slowest one in the group. The Crossed state is mind over matter.

But if the nun is already in that direction mentally, open as the Crossed are, beyond the pale and over the Rubicon, if the nun is seen as a reflection of Crossed, then she could do similar things. But Shaky leaving letters for her, even letters of regret and for her to stay away from Cava was just dumb.

I have a feeling that all that has happened and all that will happen will further push Shaky into a Jackson-like state, unable to function in any group and on his own. He is moving beyond base cowardice and has been shaped by decimation in a Crossed world. Whatever ultimately happened with the Gameskeeper, he survived that. He survived London. Shaky writing a diary of all these events, even what we the readers see as current events on Cava means that Shaky survived that as well to document his experiences and feelings. He seems to becoming less able to go with the flow as before.

    LOTS OF SPOILERS TOO SORRY

    All Dem Twists

Oh god that chapter 23. Read this today and had to go to the beach just to process this chapter *also gave me an excuse for beach fun too*. My mind and emotions are so confused at all these revelations. My god, the gameskeeper raped and ruined the poor nun, and she might not actually be a crossed which might make her immune somehow. Also Shaky's got a hawt naked X-rated *see what i did there* pen pal who might actually be really pissed off.

    Spoilers follow...

Sometimes a moment is so sublime, so horrible and wonderful, you almost don't want to sully it with feedback. You just want the sparkling taste to sit on your mind lips for a while.

With this episode, the author has now done what no one thought could be done. He created a villain worse than the Crossed.

There is no doubt in my mind now that the bastard's alive, probably turned Crossed... And he's going to burn down Cava.

All sorts of taliking points with this weeks episode.

is the Nun 'crossed'? I think she must be. Whats going on with Jasper? Have they planted the landmine underneath him? Why not just quiety dispatch him & dump him the Scarpa Flow?

@standandcindy I think, yes, they put the mine under him so that it will blow up if he is moved. I assume he is a trap: the Crossed will come get him and be splattered.
