@StefanJ I envy you. A friend who's gone several times has always been astonished by the work she's seen there.

On May 20th, which is kind of like tonight, or kind of like tomorrow morning, depending on where you are, I'LL BE ON THE RADIO! LIVE! Please do tune in to WFMU.org from 3:00am to 6:00pm EST (or 8:00am to 11:00am GMT) to hear me as one of five guests talking to our host about high school, self expression of our teenage years, and the music we listened to.

I am really really afraid that I will slip up and swear!

If you miss it, it will be archived and posted for streaming indefinitely at the playlist page here: LINK!

I'm so nervous and excited! I've been listening to WFMU since I was a teenager! And now I'm gonna be ON it!

I started the day with a book publication event from the last job. The book is called Designing for Wellbeing and you can download the English version for free here. Today my probationary period in the new job ends and although the day isn't over, I'm getting the whiff that I won't be fired in the next 4,5 hours. Last weekend I did the last content edits (or at least one hopes so!) to my novel, 20 hours of edits in two days, and sent it to the editor. Hopefully it's now just a couple of rounds of language polish and the motherfucker is out of my hands.

Things going surreally awesomely with the adventure girl. Nothing but adventures, geekery and cuddling.

    2013 is really doing a bang-up job balancing 2011-2012.

Ran around like crazy over the weekend doing a lot of theatre-y things and wrapped it up by dancing my ass off with friends. All told, I labored a lot and slept very, very little. So today I gave myself a dark Monday. Theatres and museums are usually not open on Mondays - they're dark. So with me, when necessary. Slept into the afternoon, spent the rest of the day mostly just watching cartoons. Back to pushing myself forward tomorrow.

Nice thing about going dark for a day? Not wearing shoes!

Damn-knows-how, but I'm still managing to do the voluntary work training-thing. It really hurts my head, but as long as I sit on my chair with the rest of them - and keep my piss-taking down to a minimum - then maybe I might scrape through. If I don't, well, at least I tried.

Home alone and feeling crafty. Dyeing some clothes, hand-making business cards, and then I'm going to decorate this apartment with a hammer. (And maybe some string.) Tomorrow I want to fit several hours of photo processing in between exercise and editing and general busywork. I may rest on Sunday, but it doesn't seem likely. Gonna enjoy unemployment while it lasts.

    Happy Friday night, Whitechapel!

There were a number of things, but the one I really enjoyed was...

I got to bartend at an event. I was a volunteer for this award show and the reception was going on. They only had one bartender and about 30 people lining up, so I took over and served for about an hour. Mainly had wine and beer, but as I knew about the products I was able to talk about them and make suggestions. And chatting with people (as well as the other bartender) was a lot of fun. I could have done that all night, but I backed out when the crowd thinned out.

    Lot of fun though.

    Two pretty awesome things.

Firstly, my brown ale tastes amazing! I thought it was a failure, but all it needed was time1 Hooray!

Also, Jess Nevins wrote a piece on Young Wild West and within it there is this:

"And in “Young Wild West and the Female General” Robin LeBlanc, widow of a Confederate general, brings together Confederate veterans as “General LeBlanc” and tries to establish a Confederate state in the American Southwest. LeBlanc is a femme fatale and has a “loving enemy” relationship with Young Wild West not unlike that of Sexton Blake and Mademoiselle Yvonne. "

And now I want fanart hahaha.

Got up early this morning and went to the woods with one of my daughters. l took pictures and she counted slugs. Then we finally sorted out some of the conservatory - the girls now have a computer desk and there a table to eat and write at. And my big, red, villainous leather armchair has finally made it into the dining room. Baby Steps, but satisfying...
