The gamekeeper is dead... On the day shaky blew up jasper on the "barrel of butter" shaky said jasper was the 2nd person, not crossed, that he killed. The first was the gamekeeper. He also said that killing jasper did as much good as the first person he killed, which was the GK. Besides this chapter showed what damage shaky's bullet did and it wasn't the kind of damage u can just get up and walk away from...unless the nun stuck around and nursed him back to health. No i don't think that the bearded man with the hood is the GK, nor do i think that trash bag mummy is GK either. Only time will tell, but i check these posts after every chapter and to the best of my knowledge not one person on here has really guessed right for ANYTHING. That is what makes Si sooo good at this. I mean seriously, who wasn't surprised when we saw Seline as a uninfected crossed hostage???

Has anyone thought that the "trash-bag mummy" could be Jackson? He's infiltrated the crossed for obvious reason's. He keeps himself sterile, no worries. He's the most capable thus far and just crazy enough to do it. Perhaps he's learned to mimic the plussies voice and such, and that's how they tell their own.

@blighty - I'm not THOROUGHLY convinced. I will stand corrected for the moment, but I still contend there's the chance that it's a, um, 'normal' person putting on a show. I mean, that would actually be a pretty good gambit, if you could stomach the times you needed to pull it off. But there WAS that instance of him seemingly helping Viceroy when he was jumped by another Crossed, where he appeared, killed the plusface, and immediately ran away again:

@kzootron - This is what I REALLY love about Si's writing - he's REALLY good at turning your expectations on their head, and surprising you.

@Clarkthehomonculus - I had this thought too, and it seems to match with the timeline, but Rubberman and Jackson seem to have entirely different builds, body-wise. The costume might be obscuring this, but Rubberman still seems like a smaller man than Jackson to me. Other than that, it's perfectly plausible.

I still think the trashbag/mummy crossed (?) is Doomsday, Superman's nemesis.

Given that the Trashbag Mummy and Jackson were both within a few metres of each other during that cycling incident near the start of the sortie, I doubt it.

The GK got shot in the neck in an environment without a working hospital. We're not looking at a nursed-back-into-recovery situation, but a let-him-choke-on-his-own-blood-or-put-him-out-of-his-misery situation.

Well, we'll possibly find out in the next episode. Shaky said he'd killed two non Crossed people when he hit the switch, so if it turns out the gamekeeper survived the first shot, so Shaky shot him again, well that would answer *that* question as to whether he's a potential candidate for our mystery man.

I think next week is another interlude.

That's why I rather cunningly said "next episode" and not "next week".

I thought Jasper looked like Simon Pegg:

@KayO - "THE BOYS" was frickin AWESOME!!! Start to finish, I read the trades in record time...just couldn't put them down. Loved 'Terror' and his ability to take a certain was hysterical - especially on "Monkey". But I hated when, ya know.....ugh. Still, another great series by Ennis!
