I think it's just anxiety putting a block on my thought process, but I need to get submitting, and I can't even suss out where I should start. Are magazines a good starting point? Does anybody even read magazines?

I'm completely lost and I'm going to be gnawing at myself until I fire off a salvo, so any advice is most welcome.

I'm considering back-publishing my SF stuff as an e-book. It's pre-published so not possible to submit most places... but I kind of want to see them all re-rubbed and collected in one place. Might hit you up for some tips on e-books, Faux... :) Best of luck with the submissions.

I'm prepping things for these guys at the moment (not been asked to, its a punt on open submission) http://www.foxspirit.co.uk/?page_id=371 the people that run it are decent though.

Pandemonium have an open call for 1853 at the moment http://www.pandemonium-fiction.com/contact.html although that's pretty specific

I'm actively looking for more places to submit at the moment, so I'll come back and post any more I find here.

ETA - oh and Tex..... Yes, yes you can. Get to it!!

If you're considering audiobooking them, let me know. I'm in planning for rebooting Telling of Tales at the moment.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Looks like it's happening, with another 'mazin cover by the wonderful D. Miranda Pole.

    How's the submissions going Faux?

@texture - Let us know when we can get our hands on it... so to speak. I was thinking of doing a similar book of my pre/self-pubbed stuff.

ETA - Same for everyone else in this thread, let us know where we can find your stuff.

@tex I got one rejection, which means I can slot that story into another email, and send something else to that site. It seems important to stay agile.

If I can make a little money before the end of the year, I'll be ecstatic; I'm doing my best to manage expectations.

I also bought a Kindle copy of this year's Writers' Market, which I've heard is invaluable.
